Last October I was contacted by Kieran about Alison’s 30th Birthday which he had begun organising. He explained that it was going to be a surprise for Alison and an “80’s” theme. Having entertained at Alison and Kieran’s wedding in 2009 and having developed a special connection with them both as we planned their amazing wedding, I felt deeply honoured and immediately jumped at the chance to be part of another of Alison’s lifetime milestone events.
Fast forward to last Saturday night where Alison was under the impression that she and Kieran were going to have a romantic celebratory dinner. Kieran had persuaded Alison to wear a blindfold and carefully guided her into the room where everybody was waiting very quietly. As she entered the room I hit play and as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper commenced playing Alison, still blindfolded, was startled by the sound following which Kieran removed the blindfold and standing before her were invited family and friends. I wish I had been able to get a photo of her reaction as I don’t quite have the words to describe it….but let’s just say that she certainly had no idea whatsoever and was very surprised!!
After recovering from the surprise, Alison greeted the guests and a little while later went and changed into some “80’s” attire which Kieran had organised. From there on in everybody celebrated with Alison and made it a night that she will always remember. The was lots of dancing, singing and some fooling around, but it was all heaps of FUN….and all to an 80’s soundtrack!
It was such a joy to be there and see these two beautiful individuals again. Hope you enjoy the photos which follow Alison!
In the early hours of yesterday morning I received an email notifying me that at the 2014 Wedding Industry Experts Awards, DJ:Plus! Entertainment was awarded;
Winner: Most Popular Disc Jockey – Sydney Winner: Most Popular Disc Jockey – New South Wales Winner: Most Popular Disc Jockey – Australia
I was so extremely honoured to be the recipient of best wedding dj Sydney, best wedding dj NSW, and best wedding dj Australia at these awards in both 2012 and 2013 – to once again be selected for these awards is something which I cannot thank those that value my passion for weddings enough. It is you and your love that drives and inspires me to deliver the best I can. It is you that allows me to feed my addiction for love and happiness on a regular basis. It is you that makes me feel like I have the best job in the world. Love you all!
For the second time within a week I made my way down to Centennial Vineyards in Bowral in the Southern Highlands region of NSW for the wedding of Peggy and Adam. The weather gods decided to play very nice to turn on a gorgeous autumn day. Peggy and Adam are a beautiful couple who totally love and adore each other. It turns out that their paths had already crossed a number of times before meeting, but it was not meant to be at those times and was not until two years prior that they finally ended up meeting, sparks began to fly, they shared their first kiss at Milson’s Point in Sydney and here we were today to witness and celebrate their wedding.
It was mid afternoon when guests started to arrive for the ceremony. In a lovely setting overlooking the vineyards on one side and a courtyard on the other, we could have been in Tuscany, Italy. It was not long before, Peggy was escorted up the aisle by her mum Judy to be greeted by an excited Adam. The processional included a lovely tribute by Peggy to her dear father Colin, who passed away when Peggy was a teenager. It was a beautiful ceremony, officiated by Rachel Harman, Peggy and Adam exchanged vows and were married – two individuals who had come together and had now become one. They added a personal touch to the ceremony and blended a collection of rocks they had collected from significant places that led them to their wedding day.
Following the ceremony, whilst Peggy and Adam had photographs around the vineyard, guests enjoyed canapés and refreshments in the courtyard in front of the warm fireplace and around the fountain. A little while later guests made their way into the Restaurant before we welcomed the new Mr & Mrs Hughes with cheers and applause. They both then gave beautiful speeches, which were heartfelt, humourous and emotional. The entrée was served, we entertained everybody with the Newly-wed game, guests enjoyed their main meal, there was speeches from Bridesmaid Cindy, Matron Of Honour Kelly, Bestman Daniel, Peggy’s Mum Judy and Adam’s Dad Philip, the wedding cake was cut, desert and it was time for Peggy & Adam to take the floor for their first dance. This was a beautiful moment for the both of them containing many personal heartfelt sentiments. Guests then joined them on the dance floor to party and celebrate their love.
Before long the time had come to wind thing up, but not before special bouquet presentations to both the Mums, Judy and Wendy. A Circle of Love so that guests could be personally thanked for helping make their special day one which they will always remember, then a guard of honour to farewell Peggy and Adam.
Peggy and Adam, seeing you both so happy and so much in love with each other filled my heart with much joy. Thank you for giving me the honour and privilege of being able to experience your love, witness your life-long commitment to each other and the moment you became husband and wife – for me this is such a special moment and I feel so blessed that you granted me the opportunity to be your Southern Highlands Wedding DJ & MC. I know that you will both always nurture the love you share and that it will continue to grow deeper and deeper with each passing day. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
