Montrose Berry Farm

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 15 November 2014 | Sally & Colin | Montrose Berry Farm, Sutton Forest, Southern Highlands

“I love the ground under his feet, and the air over his head, and everything he touches and every word he says. I love all his looks, and all his actions and him entirely and all together.” ~ Emily Bronte

Adoration is such a thing of beauty, it gives a rose coloured hue to all things in sight, especially to those whom we love… The blush coloured bridesmaid dresses and the blush, cream, soft pink and white florals at Sally and Colin’s wedding is a nod to the adoration that they have for each other, and the French country theme certainly hinted at romance!

When I first met them earlier this year, they told me of their plans for a simple, relaxed, smooth flowing and fun wedding that involved their family and friends – I believe that their wedding day was all those things and more!.

Sally and Colin are an absolutely beautiful genuine, down to earth couple who make each other smile and just adore one another. They held their ceremony and reception on the grounds of Montrose House (Formerly Montrose Berry Farm) in Sutton Forest, Southern Highlands and it was just perfect, just like their love for each other. Their fun and personal ceremony was officiated by Sue Jackman and committed themselves to a life together in the front garden of this picturesque property. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed the grounds whilst being served drinks and canapés whilst Sally, Colin and their wedding party had photographs around the property.

A little while later guests made their way into the reception room which looked amazing! Sally really wanted an outdoor reception, but for various reasons this was not possible. Undeterred, Sally brought the outdoors indoors! Lush foliage, ferns, flowers, string/festoon lighting, books, candles creating the perfect ambiance for the celebration of their marriage. Shortly after entering Sally and Colin cut the their wedding cake – which had been made by Sally’s Aunt, Lynette. This was followed with some lovely speeches from the Dads, Athol & Colin Senior, Maid of Honour, Jill and Bestman, Jamie.  Guests were then served a delicious main meal before we heard from Sally’s Mum, Donna and then Colin himself. A fun activity, Dessert and Sally & Colin made their way to the dance floor for their very first dance as husband and wife. What made this dance even more special was that it was sung and played by bridesmaid Jessie. Guests then danced the night away!

It was such a beautiful day and evening – I know Sally enjoyed herself as she was dancing for most of the evening. Sally and Colin, thank you for granting me the huge honour to play a role in both your wedding ceremony and wedding reception as your Southern Highlands Wedding DJ & MC – I loved every moment of your day! Your love for each other is undeniable. It will continue to flourish and along with your adorable little girl, Matilda, your future will be filled with endless happiness. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
