  • Wedding Reception | 24 February 2018 | Debra & Adrian | Loxley on Bellbird Hill, Kurrajong Hills, Hawkesbury

Debra and Adrian’s first interaction with each other occurred through their work over the telephone. Adrian was a contractor for one of the contractors of Debra’s employer and the job required that Adrian speak with Debra a few times each day. Even though they had never met each other in person, Adrian eventually found the courage to ask Debra out on a date – in essence a “blind” date. On 22 July 2010, both feeling very nervous, they went on the date and whilst Debra was a little hesitant about going, she was glad she did as they had a wonderful time with the evening ending with a spontaneous first kiss in the car – instigated by Debra, before Adrian even had a chance to do the gentlemanly thing, and walk her to her door!

The relationship developed and love started to bloom in the following few months. In October 2011 they were on a cruise to New Caledonia. Unbeknownst to Debra, having already asked her parents for their daughter’s hand, Adrian was planning to propose on the cruise. Once on board, Adrian had arranged with the ship’s photographer to help him with the proposal. On 5 October 2011 during a formal dinner, it was suggested that they have some photographs taken. As arranged with the photographer, he had them stand back to back and took a few shots. The photographer then asked Debra to turn around. To her surprise there was Adrian down on one knee with a beautiful engagement ring in his hand as he asked her to be his wife and spend the rest of their lives together. With tears of happiness flowing, Debra said Yes!

Fast forward to 24 February 2018 and here we were gathered in the picturesque Kurrajong Hills at the stunning Loxley on Bellbird Hill in the Hawkesbury Valley, for their wedding. With the sun shining very brightly, invited family and friends took their seats in the Loxley ceremony area overlooking the gorgeous view of the Sydney Basin. Whilst a little on the warm side, Adrian kept his cool as his beautiful bride made her way down the aisle accompanied by her mum, Lois. A beautiful and meaningful ceremony, officiated by Martin Moroney followed and shortly afterwards they were pronounced husband and wife!

While guests enjoyed a fantastic selection of canapes and refreshing drinks, Debra, Adrian and their wedding party made their way around the property for photographs with the talented Russell from Inlights Photography. Before long, we were welcoming the wedding party and Debra and Adrian into the Kauri Reception Room, enhanced by the lovely florals from Wedding Flowers by Jody, with lots of cheers and twirling napkins! The scene had been set for a wonderful evening……and a wonderful evening it was!!

Commencing with a little game to see how well Debra and Adrian knew each other, it entertained the guests whilst they had the opportunity to learn a little bit more about our newlyweds. This was followed by speeches from Debra’s mum, Lois and Adrian’s dad, Wilfred. Both speeches were full of love, best wishes, emotion and laughter. We were off to a great start as the delicious entree was served by the impeccable Loxley staff. Following a short time for some mingling and another opportunity for guests to take advantage of the Photobooth provided by Flash Me Photobooths, we had speeches by Chief Bridesmaid Renee, Best Man Roy and Maid of Honour April. Once again all the speeches were heartfelt, full of back stories, much love and how Debra and Adrian were just perfect for each other – it was obvious just how much these two are loved by their family and friends (it truly made my heart smile). Guests were then served a scrumptious main meal.

During our planning sessions, Debra and Adrian had expressed that they wished guests to dance between the meals. Debra also expressed this wish to the guests in her brief welcome and thank you after entering. Well, after the main meal had been consumed, the dance floor spontaneously took off to a selection of 70’s and 80’s classics – a lot of fun, singing along, interacting as well as making room for the beautiful dessert which was to follow. Our last speech, by the man of the moment himself, Adrian was next. Whilst Adrian professes to be an introvert and was a little uncomfortable delivering his speech, he did so in a manner that certainly endeared himself to everybody and they certainly felt the sentiment behind everything that he said. Even when the nerves had him saying the wrong word, it drew everybody in and affirmed just how nice a guy Adrian truly is and how much love he has for Debra.

The cutting of the beautiful wedding cake, created by Celebration Cakes, topped with great look-a-like figurines of Debra and Adrian, before our couple took to the floor for their first dance as husband and wife to a very special version of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. Enhanced by low lying fog it was a lovely romantic moment that they both shared. The bridal party and guests were invited to join Debra and Adrian on the dance floor on the next song and we were then well and truly into party mode. Guests danced for the rest of the evening to a selection of current and past hits – you need only take a look at the photographs and video below to see just how much fun everybody had.

A short break for the bouquet and garter toss, before we were back into more dancing. Before we knew it it was time for the farewell circle. After thanking and saying goodbye to all their family and friends they quietly exited the reception without any fanfare or fuss, as I wrapped up this magnificent celebration.

Debra and Adrian, it was such an extreme pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet you both, help plan your wedding and an absolute honour and privilege to have been a part of it all as your Hawkesbury Wedding DJ & Hawkesbury Wedding MC – I enjoyed every moment of it (and yes! even when you were changing things in the lead up to the wedding 🙂 ). You are both beautiful individuals and whilst you are somewhat opposites, you both truly complement each other and your love for one another is undeniable. To me weddings are all about love. Your wedding was full of so much love. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever.

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 2 March 2014 | Barbara & Warren | Private Residence, Kurrajong

Barbara and Warren are a beautiful couple who first met a few years ago on a bus trip from Sydney to Melbourne. They started dating soon afterwards and have been inseparable ever since. As their friendship grew and blossomed into a deep love, they soon realised that  they wanted to be with each other forever. Their love and devotion for each other is unique, genuine and special. From leaving little love notes in lunchboxes to jointly caring for their ‘family’ of animals, Tommy, Ringo, Big Dog and the Birdies, which they love dearly, to enjoying the simple things in life, they place all their energy in making sure their relationship is full of happiness, because at the end of the day, that is what is most important to them.

    Even though the rain somewhat spoiled plans for their outdoor ceremony, surrounded by family, friends and a whole heap of love, they exchanged vows to become husband and wife. Please allow me to share a beautiful reading from the ceremony which truly expresses how Barbara and Warren feel about each other;

    I Love You Because

I love you because you’re my future,
my present and part of my past.
My world has been turning so quickly,
and time just keeps moving so fast.

I love you because you have something,
    no ordinary person could give.
Warmth that I will cling to forever,
and hold onto as long as I live.

I love you because your devotion,
    is tender and wonderfully rare.
    And no-one could ever imagine
    the magical moments we share.

I love you because you are truthful,
your eyes hold a key to my heart.
I know that you share my commitment,
and I know that we never shall part.

I love you because you are wonderful.
and you give me all that I need.
A hug when I seek reassurance,
and a smile when we’ve disagreed.

I love you because – I just love you,
for too many reasons to say.
And I’ll always be right here beside you,
a breath and a heartbeat away.

Whilst it rained off and on throughout the day, everybody enjoyed themselves as we had guests ‘sing for their supper’,  messages from overseas, lovely speeches and dancing, including an impromptu pole dance by a guest and the mother of the groom, utilising the centre pole of the marquee which had everyone in stitches from the laughter.

The theme for Barbara and Warren’s wedding was butterflies – when Barbara’s grandfather passed away she always saw butterflies at his grave, then when Barbara and Warren moved into their house together, two butterflies comfortably placed themselves on the fly screen door of their home. Needless to say Barbara and Warren both feel very blessed and supported by her grandparents in their love for each other.

Barbara and Warren it was such a privilege and honour to be a part of your wedding day as your Hawkesbury Wedding DJ & MC and a great personal pleasure to get to know you both. I know you have a very special love and I know that, that love will grow stronger with each and every passing day.  May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 20 April 2012 | Hollie & Zane | Riverside Oaks, Cattai

In the days leading up to Hollie and Zane’s wedding, there had been so much rain that there were fears that not only would the ceremony not be able to be held on the grounds of Riverside Oaks, but worse still, that the roads would be flooded and guests would be unable to access the venue. In the end, all prayers were answered and it was an absolutely gorgeous day – just perfect for this fabulous couple to be united in marriage and to celebrate with family and friends.

At 4:00 pm, the 120 guests gathered for the ceremony at the 19th hole of the golf course. Zane, twin brother, Kurt and younger brother, James, waited for Hollie and the bridesmaids to arrive. Just a touch late, Helicia, Bethany and Hollie made their walk down the aisle. A simple and beautiful ceremony, officiated by Heather Ryman, followed before Hollie and Zane were pronounced the new Mr & Mrs Baker.

With the light beginning to fade, Hollie, Zane and the wedding party jumped on some golf buggies and headed off for photographs around the spectacular Riverside Oaks grounds whilst guests adjourned to the Terrace Bar for refreshments. A short time later, guests made their way up to the function area for more refreshments and canapes. The room looked fabulous, with picturesque views over the golf course. Not only was the room beautifully decorated by Hollie herself, but she also put the Candy Bar together (it was certainly popular) – great job Hollie!!

Guests seated and comfortable, it was time to commence proceedings and welcome the parents, wedding party and our ever so happy couple. A very beautiful welcome and thank you from Hollie and Zane, firstly thanking those that had traveled from New Zealand, Western Australia and Queensland. They then explained to the guests why they had been invited and how special each and everyone of them was to the both of them and ended with, if I may paraphrase, “…when we look around the room, we see memories. Some from before we even knew how to tie our shoelaces and some from just this week. What we would like to ask of you, is to continue to make memories with us. Be a part of our lives not only as individuals, but as a married couple and more importantly, as a family with our beautiful daughter, Alba”.

Everybody was then served a scrumptious entree and main meal, before we proceeded with the cutting of the wedding cake. Dessert was served and then it was time for the speeches. Lovely speeches from Hollie’s Dad Michael, Zane’s Dad Phillip, a song from Zane’s Mum Myrna, sister’s, Serena and Janelle, and Zane’s brother’s girlfriend Jordana, before we heard from bridesmaid Bethany, Best Man Kurt and finally Zane. Zane and Kurt then performed a Haka and this was followed by Hollie and Zane’s first dance. It was now party time and boy did everybody party! A while later, following the bouquet and garter toss, Hollie shared a special dance with her Dad Michael. Guests were then invited to join Hollie and Zane for a farewell dance after which they both departed to start their new married life together.

When I first met Hollie and Zane, they shared the story of how they met, how Zane had proposed, the hopes and dreams they have for their future and what was important to them about their wedding day. Hollie and Zane, I believe that your day was as you dreamed it would be. I believe your future will always be full of love, happiness, family and friends.  You are both amazing individuals and along with your beautiful little daughter, Alba, make such an adorable family. Thank you for investing your trust in me and inviting me to be a part of your amazing day. Hollie, Zane and Alba, may love, laughter and music fill your lives forever.
