  • Wedding Reception & Ceremony | 22 March 2022 | Sandy & Kevin | Melross & Willow Estate, Kangaroo Valley, Southern Highlands

Sandy and Kevin are a beautiful couple and whilst they are very different, they complement each other perfectly. They met via Tinder in 2015 and whilst both were feeling very nervous in the lead up to their first date, they “clicked”, instantly warmed to each other and the date proceeded involving lots and lots of talking.

Their ceremony and reception was held at Melross & Willow Estate located in Kangaroo Valley, which is in the Southern Highlands/Shoalhaven/South Coast area of NSW. The area is known for its lovely farm vistas, rugged mountains and the natural beauty of the valley, making it a perfect picturesque location for a wedding.

Unfortunately, due to recent torrential rain, Sandy and Kevin were unable to have their first choice of ceremony location, at the top of the hill, but really anywhere on this spectacular property is a good choice. In the end, the ceremony was held just outside the reception venue on the property, known as the Barn On Melross.

When Kevin proposed to Sandy he had organised a scavenger hunt under the pretense of a friend’s birthday party activity. It involved following clues to different locations around Sydney and eventually turning up to a location where there was a bucket on a stool, covered in a blanket which contained champagne and other items. When Sandy looked in the bucket, Kevin went down on one knee behind Sandy and when she turned around asked her to marry him.

Sandy, not expecting anything, replied “What about the game? Did I win the game?” Kevin replied that there was no real game and asked her to marry him again. But Sandy, still a little confused as to what was happening, asked again, “But what about the game?” Kevin the explained more fully, that there was no other contestants in this game, and asked Sandy once more for her hand in marriage. Third time lucky, Sandy said “Yes”!

It was a beautiful warm sunny day, with all the recent rain making humid and seeming even hotter, but at the allotted time, the Bridesmaids and Sandy began their processional to the ceremony location where Kevin, the Groomsmen and guests were waiting. Kevin and Sandy put their own touches to the ceremony, which was officiated by Deacon Peter Presdee and even included having their “child”, Gemma as the ring bearer, Sandy having a paw print on her body, Ned Kelly bursting into the reception and collecting the gift envelopes, along with some unique song selections to make it their own.

Before we knew it, they were a newly married couple, following congratulations from the guests and a few family photographs, Sandy, Kevin and their wedding party were whisked away by Chris of Red Berry Photography for shots around the magnificent property.

The reception was lots of fun with great speeches, a delicious meal expertly prepared by Caterina, bride & groom trivia, a dance-off and of course, a scavenger hunt (to give a nod to the proposal – and Sandy knew exactly what was going on this time 🙂 ), which was enjoyed by all. A beautiful and unique first dance, before……..wait for it……..guests joined Sandy and Kevin on the dance floor for the Chicken Dance!

Guests danced the next couple of hours away, but before long it was time to wrap up the celebration, but not before the bouquet toss, garter toss and a farewell dance with everyone on the dance floor.

I had such a great time with these two and their super fun bridal party. Their wedding day was filled with laughter, crazy hot humid weather, quick downpours and a whole lot of fun. Sandy and Kevin, Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be your Southern Highlands Wedding MC and Southern Highlands Wedding DJ. As you commence your journey as a married couple, may your marriage be filled with all the right ingredients: a heap of love, a dash of humour, a touch of romance, and a spoonful of understanding. • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 27 March 2021 | Leah & Jed | Terara Park, Terara, Nowra, South Coast

Leah and Jed’s wedding was awesome!! Perfect weather, gorgeous couple, stunning rustic venue on the South Coast, simple not-over-the-top amazing details which completely represented Leah and Jed plus a lot of fun really made their wedding shine! So much love went into making it the amazing day it was.

Leah and Jed are genuinely lovely and thoughtful people and it was so wonderful to witness them celebrating their marriage surrounded by so many close family and friends. Jed’s brother, Rohan and his family even made the trek from Germany, where he lives and works, plus endured the mandatory Covid quarantine period just so that he could attend the wedding and act as Jed’s Best Man.

Whilst the wedding was rustic, the way they met was very modern….on Tinder! It seems simple to just swipe right when something about someone catches your eye, but there is always something much more beautiful as to why they were drawn to each other. For Leah it was Jed’s smile! For Jed it was Leah’s eyes! They instantly swiped right and after about a month of chatting electronically, decided that they were comfortable enough to meet up in person.

That meeting led to a love that has grown and grown, their adorable little daughter Lyla, a shared passion for renovating their home and making it their own and a proposal in July 2020 which led us to their wedding day.

The location of the wedding ceremony and reception was Terara Park which is located at Terara on the fertile river flats of the Shoalhaven River three kilometres east of Nowra. With a stunning jetty overhanging the dam, complete with row boat and lush outdoor area made for a very picturesque ceremony. The simple, yet beautiful and meaningful ceremony, officiated by Joanne Novich Marriage Celebrant, celebrated their journey to this point, their love for each other and their shared love for Lyla. Cheers and applause followed as they were pronounced husband and wife!

Whilst Leah, Jed and the wedding party had photos around the property, guests were able to relax around the rustic surrounds which included outdoor fire pits, a luscious grazing table with delectable delights to enjoy, cold beverages and a games area. The rest of the evening was filled with love, laughter, delicious food, fun & games, dancing and relaxing.

I always struggle to find the right words to explain how grateful I am for the the couples who entrust me with the responsibility as their South Coast Wedding MC & South Coast Wedding DJ; Leah and Jed, it was truly an honour that I was able to play a part in your amazing wedding day, I loved seeing you both together, the gentle tenderness, the light hearted banter, how generous you are with yourselves and your warmth with everyone. Have a lifetime of laughs, an eternity of love, and an abundance of happiness as you start this new chapter as Mr & Mrs! May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

  • Wedding Reception | 24 September 2016 | Kasey & Ben | Silos Estate & Restaurant, Berry, South Coast

Kasey and Ben’s wedding day was filled with the warmth and love of their family and friends plus as an added bonus, the weather gods came to the party by turning on a beautiful South Coast day which was just perfect to celebrate the beginning of their together forever journey. Kasey and Ben selected Silos Restaurant as the location for their reception. Silos is located on a green hill just outside Berry, which features two silos that almost a century ago was used to store grain.

The love story of Kasey & Ben began in August/September of 2008 when they went on a double date arranged by Kasey’s best friend. Both were feeling very nervous, but by the end of that evening they had exchanged their first kiss and the rest is history. Four years later they moved in together and on 16 July 2015, Ben arranged a weekend away in the Blue Mountains, where he could not have organised a more romantically perfect setting to ask Kasey to be his wife. Snow, roses and champagne, Kasey in tears when asked and the answer was a resounding yes!

They exchanged vows and became one at St. Marys Star Of The Sea in Gerringong earlier in the afternoon then returned to Silos for photographs around the picturesque property whilst guests enjoyed wine tasting. Soon it was time to commence the festivities! Entering to two songs from Grease by Olivia Newton John & John Travolta, the wedding party, then Kasey and Ben entered the Marquee adjacent to Silos Restaurant to great applause and twirling napkins!

Following an exquisite entrée, it was time for our first set of speeches. First up was Ben’s Grandfather Mick, then Ben’s Mum Vicki and followed by Kasey’s Dad Peter. Lovely speeches from each one of them with beautiful sentiments being expressed about our newlyweds. An emotional father daughter dance then captivated the guests as Kasey and Peter shared a special moment on the dance floor. Some fun with the Newlywed Game and then it was time for guests to enjoy the delicious main meal.

The second set of speeches commenced with Maid of Honour Hannah recounting the story of the first date. Best man and Ben’s younger brother, Josh was next and last but not least, the man of the moment, Ben! Ben expressed how he always dreamed of his wedding day, how it would be and the type of person his wife would be. He went on to convey how Kasey exceeded his dream and vision of the person he would marry and how this wedding day was better than he ever imagined. The love Ben has for Kasey is obvious, he does not hide it and it is returned in spadesful by Kasey – truly they are a perfect match!

At the end of the speech it was time for their first dance as husband and wife to a very unique version of Keith Urban’s “Your Everything” – another special moment which Kasey and Ben will remember forever and once again captivating the guests. They then cut their wedding cake before Ben shared a dance with his mum, Vicki – which was just beautiful. It was now party time, time for everybody to let their hair down and have some fun!

In what seemed to be too soon, it had come to the time to start wrapping up the festivities, but not before the bouquet toss, garter toss, everybody joining in on the dance floor for one final dance and then Kasey and Ben departing through a guard of honour to commence their happy ever after!

Kasey and Ben, it was nothing but a joy to get to know you both along with your family & friends. I feel blessed to have been granted the huge honour to play a part in your amazing wedding day as your South Coast Wedding MC and South Coast Wedding DJ. I feel privileged to have witnessed first hand how much you both love, cherish and how devoted you are to each other. It makes my heart happy to see how you both value family and friendships. It was nothing but a pleasure every step of the way and I know that your love will continue to grow with every passing day. To echo words spoken by Ben’s mum Vicki, love is all you need and if you have love, nothing is impossible and happiness is assured! May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
