South Coast

  • Wedding Reception | 29 April 2016 | Jillian & Karl | Jaspers, Berry, South Coast

Jill and Karl first met in sixth class at school in 1985, little could they have ever imagined that some 31 years later they would be marrying and celebrating their wedding at Jaspers in Berry on the South Coast of NSW. They became friends and hung out together with mates but did not start dating until high school. The first time they went out, Karl bought Jill a bracelet with her name engraved on it which Jill still remembers came in a pink velvet box. In 1987 Karl had to return to New Zealand for some time did keep in contact for a while by writing Jill letters.

As time moved on, they both lived their own lives and it was not until some 20 years later when Jill, after having reconnected with a few friends from their school days via Facebook, was going through some old things, came across Karl’s letters from 1987 and decided to check if he was on Facebook also. But alas, she could not locate Karl. About a month later, she tried again and lo and behold, there was someone who appeared to be Karl. After a few probing questions she confirmed that this was the Karl from her school days, they became Facebook friends and started chatting regularly.

In late January of 2009, Karl called Jill, said he was catching up with one of the old school friends for a drink and asked whether she would like to join them, to which Jill agreed. As soon as Karl saw Jill again, he knew he was in love. That evening was just not long enough and they caught up again for another drink a week or so later before going out on their first “official” date on Valentine’s Day. Not long after they realised that they were both very much in love with each other. As time progressed they both could not stop thinking of each other and having one another in their lives, made them feel happier than they had ever felt before.

The years passed and the loved continued to grow. It was on Jill’s birthday in 2014 whilst in Tasmania that Karl organised a dinner where, with Jill’s parent’s blessing, he was going to pop the question. The lead up however was less than ideal with a minor health scare for Jill’s mum, but despite some reservations, it went ahead and during the meal Karl asked Jill to close her eyes where he got down on one knee, took her hand and asked her to be his wife. Jill’s eyes filled with tears of happiness, she said yes and here we were today celebrating the wonderful love they share.

It was such a beautiful wedding, the wedding party looked amazing, the venue was outstanding and everyone had a fabulous time. It started with drinks and snacks on the veranda before guests made their way into The Orangery for the commencement of a delicious meal and an evening of celebration, fun and dancing. Before we knew it was time for the festivities to come to an end, however the revelry did continue the following day with a BBQ on a private property in the local area.

Jill and Karl, thank you so much for the trust you placed in me – it was such a joy to be a part of your wedding day as your South Coast Wedding MC & Wedding DJ. I loved all the loving little glances you gave each other during the evening. I loved the way you both held hands. I loved seeing just how loved you are by all your family and friends. But most of all I loved how much you obviously love each other; love is the most powerful force in the universe and together you can both accomplish whatever your hearts desire. Your hearts beat only for each other. That flicker of a spark that was ignited all those years ago in now a raging fire that cannot be extinguished and I feel blessed to have been able to experience it first hand. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 8 February 2015 | Catherine & Marcus | Tumbling Waters Retreat, Stanwell Tops, Wollongong

Catherine and Marcus are a beautiful couple who currently live and work in London. They met through a couple of match-making friends and it was not long after that they realised they were falling in love with each other. They spent the next year traveling Europe and enjoying many adventures, fun times and falling deeper and deeper in love, before moving in together. But it was not until a trip to the United States, whilst visiting New York’s Central Park, that Marcus dropped to one knee and asked Catherine to be his wife.

Fast forward to 8 February 2015, the day Catherine and Marcus selected to exchange vows and become husband and wife. Tumbling Waters Retreat, which is perched on the edge of an escarpment at Stanwell Tops, located just north of Wollongong, was selected as the location for the ceremony and reception. With it’s beautiful private gardens, spectacular views and a glorious sunny day, it was just the ideal location for them to begin their journey as a married couple and to host an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends.

The ceremony, beautifully officiated by Rebecca Ramsay, was full of much love, laughter and smiles. Catherine looked stunning in her lace gown and lovely veil, whilst Marcus looked very suave and handsome in his bluish suit. Supported by longtime school friends and a work colleague, the entire wedding party looked elegant and stylish.

Following the ceremony guests enjoyed some refreshments and canapés before being seated and then welcoming Catherine, Marcus and their wedding party. Everybody enjoyed a delicious meal, great company lovely speeches, the cutting of the cake, Catherine & Marcus’s first dance, dancing and a room which was overflowing with love and happiness. All too soon it was almost time to farewell Catherine & Marcus, but not before a beautiful father daughter dance, a final dance joined by all their guests and a guard of honour as they departed.

Catherine and Marcus are a truly awesome couple who are so deeply in love. With the help of Catherine’s mum Maria, they created a wedding that was a joyous celebration – I look forward to seeing all the amazing professional photographs captured by Anna Blackman. It was such an honour to be granted the privilege of witnessing your life long commitment and to be your Wollongong Wedding DJ & MC. Catherine & Marcus I wish you a marriage, filled with loads of joy, love and care. The love you share, is immense and sweet. May your love never fade away. May your feelings and emotions for each other only grow deeper and stronger with time. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 1 February 2014 | Alyce & Robert | Terrara House Estate, Terara, Nowra, South Coast

Alyce and Robert first met at an underage disco, but did not get together until many years later. It was during a trip to New Zealand in January 2012, that Robert proposed to Alyce whilst enjoying a Gondola ride in Queenstown. Fast forward to the most wonderful and perfect summer day on the South Coast of NSW and Terrara House Estate, a gorgeous heritage listed country property surrounded by lush green paddocks and lovely manicured gardens, where family and friends gathered to share in and witness Alyce and Robert become husband and wife. Following the beautiful ceremony, officiated by Natasha Hill, guests enjoyed canapes and refreshments in the shaded picturesque garden whilst Alyce, Robert and their wedding party wandered around the ground for photographs.

Then as the sun started to set, everybody made their way to the marquee for the evenings celebrations. The marquee was beautifully decorated and the warm and balmy night meant celebrations continued under a beautiful moonlit sky fanned by a gentle breeze – the perfect setting for a really lovely wedding, full of big smiles, happy guests and lots of love.

Alyce and Robert thoroughly enjoyed mingling with their guests, the photo booth and hitting the dance floor. The guests were treated to delicious food, delightful speeches, dancing, a particular beauty and softness that was everywhere you looked and all enhanced by the deep love that this beautiful couple share. Everybody enjoyed every moment of their wedding, in fact they were having so much fun, they really didn’t want it to end!!

Alyce & Robert, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your amazing wedding day, it was such a huge honour and privilege to be your South Coast Wedding DJ & MC.
