• Wedding Reception | 14 March 2015 | Ella & Andrew | Castlereagh Hall, Castlereagh

While most will associate the work “click” with computers and the act of rapidly depressing and releasing a button on a mouse or other input device, in the case of Ella and Andrew it has a double meaning. This beautiful couple met on Instagram through their shared interest of all things fitness. Little did they know that the simple sharing of fitness photographs would be the start of a beautiful love story. Over the months that followed Ella and Andrew spoke every single day and it started to feel like they had known each other forever. So as they were “clicking” the buttons on the mouse, they also “clicked” as people and as each day passed, their hearts began to beat in unison and faster each time they spoke – oh, did I mention that Ella was located in the United Kingdom?

In September 2013, Ella jumped on a plane from the UK and flew to Australia for four weeks. There was no awkwardness at all, as they greeted each other with their very first kiss Both admit however, that there was some nervousness, with Andrew possibly somewhat more nervous than Ella. As it happened, Andrew was between jobs at the time and they were able to spend the entire four weeks together or as Ella termed it “the perfect month!”. Straight from the airport Andrew took Ella to the City and then on a ferry to Manly where they walked along the beach, enjoyed the sights and being together.

When Ella left following those four weeks, Andrew felt there was something missing in his life, that something was Ella and came to the realisation that he was in love. Similarly, Ella on her return to England confided in her mum that Andrew was the man she was going to marry. A few days later Andrew was busy organising plane tickets for Ella to return to Australia. In January 2014, after Ella having returned to Australia in December and Andrew having given Ella a Christmas present of a weekend away at a retreat in Lithgow, had, unbeknownst to Ella, organised the room to be decorated with rose petals, candles and wine and asked Ella to be his wife. Ella having no idea the proposal was coming, was initially overwhelmed with emotions, but she did say yes. A month later on 6 February 2014 they were married.

When I first met with Ella and Andrew, they told me how much she wanted the wedding reception they did not have on their wedding day and to celebrate with their family and friends. Ella told me how much it meant to her for her dad to walk her down the aisle. They told me of how they were wanting to expand their family. I am so happy that all these wants became a reality on 14 March 2015!

Ella & Andrew selected to have their vow renewal ceremony at Mt. Tomah Botanical Gardens in the Blue Mountains, where Ella’s dad George walked his daughter down the aisle. Their reception was held at Castlereagh Hall in Castlereagh, just north of Penrith and at the foot of the Blue Mountains. With gorgeous vintage styling , stunning views over horse studs and Penrith Lakes and a stones throw from Andrew’s parents home, it was a perfect choice.

Surrounded by love from their family and friends, Ella and Andrew had the most amazing day, they celebrated and everybody celebrated with them! When Andrew announced during his speech that they were expecting a baby, the entire hall erupted in applause which lasted a few minutes – everybody was overjoyed in the happiness that these two have found in each other. It also meant that their third want had also been achieved!

When it came time to party – my lord did they party!!! Just check out the photos and video below to see just how they partied! I am certain they would have kept going all night if we were allowed to. Ella and Andrew, it was such a joy, honour and privilege to be invited to be not only your Wedding DJ Sydney, but also your Sydney Wedding MC and to get to know you both, your beautiful loving families and a glimpse of your dreams for the future – which is all set to be very bright and filled with much happiness. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Reception | 7 March 2015 | Amy & Lawrence | The Pontoon, Sydney Harbour, Sydney

One could not have wished for better weather for a wedding reception being celebrated on stunning Sydney Harbour – it was such a perfect autumn day full of sunshine, a gentle breeze and a beautiful couple whose love for each other was obvious from the first time I met them. Amy and Lawrence are both kind, humble and gorgeous individuals, inside and out. They have two totally adorable daughters and met in 2009 at a Eurovision party hosted by Lawrence’s mum.

Amy & Lawrence’s reception was held on The Pontoon, a luxury vessel offering 360° views of the Harbour – essentially a floating glass ballroom with a huge upper deck entertaining area. Guests boarded The Pontoon at the Man ‘O War Steps adjacent to Sydney Opera House and were greeted by Amy, Lawrence and their wedding party. Guests enjoyed, drinks, canapés and the spectacular views from the upper deck as we cruised around the harbour.

A short time later guests moved downstairs and we welcomed Amy & Lawrence with cheers, applause and twirling napkins!! A short welcome and thank you before guests were served a delicious entrée. This was followed by lovely speeches from Amy’s dad, Donald and Matron of Honour, Erin. All eyes were then on the two screens where a lovely slideshow featuring a pre-wedding photographic shoot was played. A fun game to see how well Amy and Lawrence knew each other had guests laughing, smiling and aww-ing before a scrumptious main meal was served.

Wonderful speeches from both best man, Michael and Lawrence himself, the cutting of the cake, dessert and it was time for Amy & Lawrence to have their first dance as husband and wife. This was truly a magical and emotional moment – their love was evident throughout the song and it did end with some tears of happiness being shed. Guests then joined in on the dance floor.

As the clock stuck 9:00 pm, with precision timing, we were perfectly positioned to witness a fabulous fireworks display (that I like to think was in celebration of Amy & Lawrence’s wedding), with many guests taking the opportunity to venture onto the upper deck for a better view, whilst others continued to dance on! Further dancing continued until before we knew it, it was time to commence the farewells. A bouquet toss which ended in Amy’s mum, Donna catching the bouquet – Donna was so excited as she has been engaged for 30 years! A fun garter toss, a circle of love and it was time to send Amy & Lawrence on the way as they commenced the rest of their lives as a married couple.

It was such an honour to have been given the privilege of witnessing their love first hand. Amy is a little quiet, beautiful, spirited and radiates joy. Lawrence is outgoing, funny, gentle and completely adores her. They are an awesome couple who are so deeply in love and created a wedding which was a joyous fun celebration. Thank you for entrusting me with being your Sydney Wedding MC & Sydney Wedding DJ, it was such a pleasure getting to know you both and assisting you celebrate your lifelong commitment. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 27 February 2015 | Charlotte & Bry | Soldier’s Beach Event Centre, Central Coast

Charlotte and Bry met in 2007. Charlotte, who is originally from the UK, was travelling the East Coast of Australia with friends and had booked in for a surf tour. When she turned up for the tour, Charlotte was greeted by a very happy Bry. They were immediately attracted to each other and by the end of the tour had exchanged telephone numbers.

Charlotte and Bry have a sweet little thing that they do, where randomly one will say to the other, “Tell me something”. The other would then make a statement or tell a story. About 5 months after they first met, Bry was teaching Charlotte how to Ski in Thredbo. Whilst sitting on the mountain side Charlotte said to Bry, “Tell me something” to which Bry’s response was “I love you”, surprising Charlotte.

Fast forward to 27 February 2015 and it was an absolutely glorious day for a wedding!! Whilst earlier in the week rain had been forecast and threatened to ruin their beach ceremony, the sun was shining and it could not have been more perfect. The location was Soldiers Beach on the NSW Central Coast, on some sand dunes overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean – I overheard some of the guests commenting that it felt like we were on an island. Perfect weather and perfect location for Charlotte and Bry’s dream wedding ceremony! Officiated by Kate Tyler-Webber, the ceremony included Charlotte and Bry’s beautiful little boy, Jesse and if I may paraphrase a line from the ceremony, “He has taken their love and turned it into a family” – just beautiful!! The ceremony also included their dog, Roxy.

Following the ceremony guests made their way to the Event Centre for drinks and canapés whilst Charlotte, Bry and their wedding party headed off for photographs around the surrounding Central Coast area. Shortly afterwards guests were seated and we welcomed the wedding party with huge applause and personalised introductions but saving the loudest welcome for Charlotte and Bry!!

The rest of the evening was filled with fun activities, a choreographed first dance which segued into heartfelt sentiments conveyed in the first dance song – I saw many in the room wiping away tears of happiness as the sentiment and love carried over and filled their hearts. It was then party time!!, including Charlotte and the bridesmaids demonstrating a dance.

Before long it was time to start winding proceedings up, but not before the bouquet toss, a fun twist to the garter toss and a very emotional father daughter dance. Charlotte’s dad Ian, wrote a song for Charlotte many years ago and being a guitar player, recorded the song for her. Charlotte wanted to surprise her dad with his song and we added a little bit of magic to it which had both Charlotte and her dad share a truly special moment which they will treasure forever!! This was followed by a farewell dance with absolutely everybody on the dance floor, before Charlotte and Bry left to begin the rest of their lives, but now as husband and wife!

Charlotte and Bry are truly genuine, relaxed, fun loving people who love the beach, exploring, a lazy sleep in, a BBQ. Their family & friends are important to them and they share the same values. They truly love each other and this was evident from the first time I met them. They wanted their wedding to be, and I quote,”Beachy, Sunshine, Happy, Relaxed & Fun” – well they definitely had the beach and sunshine in bucket loads. I also believe we achieved the rest of the brief! Thank you for giving me the esteemed honour of being your Central Coast Wedding DJ and Central Coast Wedding MC, it was such a pleasure to be a part of your special celebration and I had a lot of fun getting to know you both and planning your wedding celebration! May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
