• Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 18 October 2014 | Cobie & Neil | Baillieu Ballroom, Milton Park Country House Hotel, Bowral, Southern Highlands

Cobie and Neil are a truly beautiful couple and what an amazing wedding day it was! It was full of much love, laughter, family and their favourite things! Both the ceremony and reception was held at the picturesque Milton Park – Country House & Spa, in Bowral, in the Southern Highlands.

Cobie and Neil met on the 15th May 2010 after exchanging smiles across the dance floor. Cobie thought that he was tall enough for her friend, but Neil only had eyes for Cobie and by the end of the evening Neil had provided her with his telephone number. The next morning Cobie did not hesitate to text Neil resulting in their very first date on that same day – little did they know that this was to be the start of the rest of their lives together! As time passed, and they spent more and more time together, eventually meeting each others respective families and their feelings for each other growing stronger and stronger with each passing day – they were in love!; sweet, giddy, love!

On 8 December 2012 – Cobie’s birthday, Neil had organised a special lunch at Berowra Waters. Cobie was led to believe that the lunch would be at Rose Bay, but when they got there, she found that Neil had arranged for a seaplane to take them to the real destination. After lunch, Neil took Cobie outside, dropped to one knee, produced the engagement ring and asked Cobie to spend the rest of her life with him as his wife. With the ring sparkling brightly in the afternoon sun, Cobie caught by surprise, initially laughed, but she did say yes and here we now were witnessing and celebrating their marriage.

It was the most perfect day for the most perfect couple, the sun shone brightly and the slight breeze keeping everyone comfortable – they could not have wished for better weather. Following a beautiful ceremony, officiated by Celebrant Craig Moran, there were cheers as Cobie & Neil were finally pronounced husband and wife. A group photograph and a few family shots prior to Cobie, Neil and their wedding party heading off for photographs around the idyllic Milton Park grounds. Guests made their way up to the upper lawn where an array of lounges and games were available whilst being served canapes and refreshments.

A little while later everybody made their way to the Baillieu Ballroom to celebrate Cobie and Neil’s love and the coming together of two amazing families. So much laughter, fun and happiness in one room was such a joy to behold. Lovely speeches, mingling, fun activities and dancing was the perfect recipe for a fantastic celebration. The bouquet toss, garter toss, a farewell circle, a final dance and it was time to bid farewell to our beautiful couple.

Cobie and Neil are so deeply in love that it literally radiates off them and touches all those around them…I was no exception and these two certainly touched my heart with the love they share for each other. Cobie & Neil, it was such an honour and privilege to not only witness you become husband & wife, but also to be your Southern Highlands Wedding MC and Wedding DJ Bowral and it is certainly something I will always cherish and hold dear. You have a special love and I know that with each passing day, you will both fall more and more in love with each other. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!.

  • Wedding Tips – Ways To Have A Fun Wedding

Based on my experience, every couple I have met with and spoken to desires a FUN wedding – not one has ever said to me that they want their celebration to be boring. Now I am certainly not in any way implying that any wedding would be boring, but planning a wedding takes up so much time, money and effort that you would really want to ensure that every person attending has an absolute BLAST. Don’t you?

Well believe it or not, the key to having a fun wedding is not in having the most elaborate of wedding decorations, nor the type of flowers you choose, or even whether you decide to select beef over chicken or fish for the main meal. It really is not a secret that if you wish a fun wedding, you really must plan to have a fun wedding! I know that sounds rather unsexy and does involve a little extra work, but if it had your guests raving about your wedding for months to come, then would it not be worth the effort?

    Here are a few things you can do to help create a FUN Wedding;

Make sure guests know what to expect.
The more you let your guests know in advance what your expectations are, the more they are going to be in the right mood and mindset to both act and enjoy themselves accordingly.

Feed guests. Feed them on time.
Hungry can quickly turn into hangry*, and it is really hard to enjoy yourself when you are hangry.

Make the celebration authentic to you as a couple.
Everyone has a different definition of what fun is. By keeping it authentic to you as a couple and the larger part of your social circle, your wedding will be unique and entertaining. Of course, knowing your crowd is key.

    Get your guests emotionally invested.
People enjoy weddings the most when they are emotionally invested in the reason they are there: two people they love are publicly declaring their love and joining their lives together in marriage.

Let it go, let it go!
At the end of the day, it is important to realise that there will be guests who are not going to have fun at your wedding no matter what you do and that there is not a single party that all your guests will love equally. What they do love, however, is you, so hopefully they will go home saying “I am so, so happy to have been able to be there to celebrate when this couple I love was married.”

DJ:Plus! Entertainment can help you make your wedding fun in many other ways through the use of creative and personalised ideas which will engage and entertain your guests whilst remaining true to who you are as a couple.

  • Charity Event | 5 September 2014 | Girls Night In | Dee Why RSL

According to the Cancer Council, the Northern Beaches Girls Night In is the biggest such event in Australia! DJ:Plus! Entertainment has been supporting this event every year since 2011and was very proud to support it again in 2014. It was a wonderful night full of varied entertainment, having a heap of fun and raising money for the Cancer Council, and in particular Women’s Cancers.

The entertainment this year included Amber Lawrence, who has supported the event since 2012, Spirit Taekwondo – Brookvale, Northern Beaches Chorus and the showgirls from Xtend Barre. In addition there was an online raffle, games, pink envelopes and other fund raising activities.

Lovely ladies from the Northern Beaches, THANK YOU for supporting this event, thank you for always getting into the spirit of the theme and looking so fabulous, thank you for having so much FUN!!, but most of all, thank you for your generosity. Not sure how much was raised as yet, but will endeavour to update this post once I know.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to Kirsty and ALL her team of volunteers who work tirelessly to make this happen each year. The logistics of putting an event such as this on should not be underestimated and these ladies unselfishly give up their time to make it happen for the benefit of others.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, so I do not intend to write any more and let the photos and video below do the talking. If you enjoyed the evening and feel so inclined, please leave a comment or share this post. Enjoy!!
