• Australian Bridal Industry Awards | 9 December 2013

I was extremely blessed this year to once again have the most wonderful couples entrust me with their wedding day.  As I have said many times before, I consider this such a great honour and an extreme privilege. This is one of the most special times in their life and….they want me to be a part of it!! Accordingly I go to great lengths to ensure that the trust they have invested in me is not breached in any way and give my all to deliver their dream wedding. I know that my couples greatly appreciate the effort I put into their day – as they tell me that they do, but for them to also go to that extra effort to provide feedback to the Australian Bridal Industry Academy really shows me how much they appreciate my efforts.

This year, thanks to feedback provided by my beautiful couples, I was extremely proud to once again be finalist in all three categories that DJ:Plus! Entertainment provides services in, Disc Jockey, Master Of Ceremonies and Ceremony Music, but you have no idea how surprised I was to be declared the Winner Best Wedding Master Of Ceremonies, Top 3 in Best Wedding Disc Jockey and once again be the only Disc Jockey to be a Finalist in the Best Wedding Ceremony Music category.

I have worked hard to constantly improve DJ:Plus! Entertainment for the benefit of my couples, the fact that my couples felt that my Master Of Ceremonies role had more impact on the success of their wedding speaks volumes to me and affirms that I am on the right path. In the next week or so a new look will be unveiled and 2014 will see some intensive training being undertaken to once again lift what is possible to another level again. I am really excited about the coming year and can’t thank each of my beautiful couples, whether past, present or future, enough for your trust, your hugs and kisses and your friendship; it means the world to me, a hopeless romantic that loves love and happiness and gets to regularly feed his addiction. Thank you! Thank you!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 7 December 2013 | Haley & Aaron | Peppers Craigieburn, Bowral, Southern Highlands

It was the perfect weather for Haley and Aaron’s morning wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception at Peppers Craigieburn, Bowral, in The Southern Highlands. The sun was beaming down on these two lovers as they exchanged vows, committed to marriage and promised to love each other for all time.

Haley and Aaron met 6 years earlier through mutual friend Stephanie – who today was one of the bridesmaids. They began spending time together, got to know one another better and eventually started dating after 6 months.  They have been through a lot together and their relationship has had its share of ups and downs throughout the years, they have always managed to work through them together and come out stronger at the other end. They are each others anchor in a stormy sea. They are awesome, honest and down to earth people, they laugh easily, love openly, cherish each other deeply and are so much fun to be around! They are also both very hard workers, they are both very passionate about their family and providing a stable environment for Jayden. They enjoy the outdoors and spend most of their free time outside.

Needless to say it was a beautiful wedding full of love and lots of fun!!…and even though there was the odd hiccup, they took it all in their stride and were determined to have the time of their lives regardless. A delightful time was had by all as they enjoyed their meal, mingling, chatting, the speeches, dancing and celebrating this special day with Haley and Aaron.

Haley and Aaron’s relationship is built on a foundation of love, honesty and respect. They are equals and are united in achieving their goals. Haley and Aaron, I am completely honoured that you allowed me the great privilege to be a part of your fantastic day and that I got the opportunity to; get to know you better, meet your family and friends, see happy smiles and silly faces, but most of all, the abundance of love! Have a wonderful delayed honeymoon next year and may love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!!

I promise to share with you a relationship of love, honesty and commitment. I will stand by you through all of our tomorrows respecting you as a person and your individuality. I promise to live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side and sleep in your arms; to always bring out the best in you and to be the most that I can be. This is my promise for our life together. ~ Haley

You are the only woman I want to share my life with, and I promise to encourage you in your successes and support you when you stumble or have doubt; I promise to work with you and walk along side you, to create a life and family full of joy, fun and meaning. This is my solemn and binding vow. ~ Aaron

  • Wedding Reception | 16 November 2013 | Tanya & Brad | The Carrington, Katoomba, Blue Mountains

Well here I was back at the Carringtion Hotel in Katoomba again for the second time in four weeks, this time for Tanya and Brad’s wedding. Unfortunately the rain somewhat ruined Tanya and Brad’s plans for an outdoor ceremony, but none the less their love shone extremely brightly and surrounded by family and friends, they were married in the Lounge area of the Hotel and became husband and wife.

It was a beautiful ceremony that included Tanya and Brad’s little daughter Ellie as Flower Girl and their friend Heidi providing the music for the ceremony and pre-dinner drinks. Following the ceremony there were photographs taken before Tanya, Brad and the Wedding Party went on a limo ride around Katoomba.

Later guests made their way into the Grand Dining Room for the reception. The  Wedding Party made their way into the room to personalised introductions before everyone was up on their feet to give Tanya and Brad a really great welcome. A few words from Brad then guests were served a beautiful Entree.

Wonderful speeches from Tanya’s Parents Narelle and Richard and Brad’s Mum, Cassie before we had a little fun finding out how well Tanya and Brad knew each other, which was enjoyed immensely by all the guests. The cutting of the cake, Main Meal and we then had a speech from Brad’s brother and Best Man, Mitch. Brad was up next to speak, but unbeknownst to either Brad or Tanya, Brad’s Mum Cassie had assisted me in obtaining a message from Brad’s grandmother who was unable to attend the wedding. When I played this message and Brad heard his grandmother’s voice, he became very emotional and we needed to pause for a very brief moment whilst he recomposed himself. It was a such a beautiful moment and demonstrated the special love between a grandparent and a grandchild. When Brad finally got up to speak he was still visibly affected by the message and found it difficult to speak at times.

Dessert was then served and then we witnessed a beautiful choreographed first dance from Tanya and Brad which ended with a spectacular lift, dip and kiss which I was unfortunately unable to capture due to ensuring the music finished at the right moment. Guests then joined our newly weds and partied for many hours.

Despite the rain it was a beautiful wedding and based on comments received, Tanya and Brad’s brief of wanting a beautiful, smooth-flowing and fun wedding was met and maybe even (hopefully) exceeded. Tanya and Brad, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day. It was such a pleasure to have been a part of your day as your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ & MC. I enjoyed getting to know you both, your families and your friends. I hope you both had the time of your lives and that whenever you look back or think about your wedding day, it brings back nothing but fond memories. Enjoy your honeymoon in Singapore and Thailand and may love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!!
