• Wedding Reception | 8 December 2012 | Katie & Brett | The Tea Room QVB, Sydney

Katie and Brett met in August of 2009, Katie thought Brett was a great dancer and Brett thought Katie was very pretty as he watched her from the other side of the room. Not long after, they had arranged to go for coffee, but Brett suggested they go to dinner instead – and dinner it was at Cronulla’s Little Italy Restaurant. Whilst Katie realised she was in love with Brett after a few weeks, it was not until a few months later that Brett realised he was in love with Katie…..and so this was the beginning of a beautiful love story.

Two years later, in August 2011, Brett proposed on a trip away to Berry. Brett had it all planned, An early morning 1 kilometre hike up to Cambewarra Lookout to watch the sunrise and as the sun rose he would propose. Unfortunately, when they got there, the lookout was closed. Not to be deterred, Brett suggested they jump the fence – which they did. He lost his bearings in all the excitement and couldn’t quite work out which way was east. Anyway, as much as I hate to cut a beautiful story short, Brett proposed, Katie said yes, she shed a tear or two, and here were were at  The Tea Room Queen Victoria Building in Sydney to celebrate their lifelong commitment.

Guests arrived and were welcomed with canapés and refreshments whilst Katie, Brett and their wedding party had photographs in and around the Queen Victoria Building. A little while later they were all welcomed with rapturous applause from the 120 invited family and friends. A delicious entree and it was time for the first segment of speeches. First up was Katie’s mum, Kathleen, followed by Brett’s dad, Ray and finishing with Matron of Honour, Suzy. All conveyed beautiful sentiments and it was abundantly clear that Katie and Brett are very much loved.

A delectable main course and it was a very humourous speech from Best Man, Michael and lovely words from Brett. Dessert followed, then the Cake Cutting before Katie & Brett shared their first dance as husband and wife. The wedding party and parents joined them part way through, followed by the remainder of the guests, then the party really began.

The bouquet and garter toss, followed by a ‘Catchers Dance’ where  the two lucky catchers were asked to have a special dance together – and being good sports they of course obliged. More dancing, Katie and Brett being lifted into the air and much more fun. In what seemed like no time at all, it time to say goodbye. A farewell dance with all the guests before Katie and Brett departed to start their new life together.

It was a beautiful relaxed and sophisticated wedding that was loads of fun. Katie and Brett are two beautiful and amazing people – they light each other up and everyone around them and along with their fun wedding party, it was such a joy to be a part of their wedding day as their Sydney Wedding DJ and MC. Thank you for entrusting me and inviting me to be a part of your fabulous wedding day. Have a wonderful and enjoyable honeymoon and may love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

This demonstrates just what beautiful & generous individuals Katie & Brett are.

Guests were invited to right their names on the hearts. This Is a lovely guest book alternative.

  • Wedding Reception | 25 November 2012 | Melissa & David | Oliveto Ristorante, Rhodes, Sydney

It was an absolutely beautiful day for Melissa and David’s lunch time wedding reception at Oliveto Ristorante & Bar, overlooking the water in Brays Bay Reserve at Rhodes. Melissa and David were actually married earlier in the week on Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays and chose to celebrate today with 80 of their family and friends.

Guests arrived and were treated to a selection of antipasto and welcome drinks as the mingled and caught up. A delicious entree was then served before the first of two games were played. This engaged the guests and using a little creativity, I managed to put lots of smiles on the guests faces and generate much laughter.

This was followed by a wonderful main meal before we had some lovely speeches from Best Man, David’s Dad, David and finally Melissa. The cutting of the cake was next and then another game, which once again was a hit with everybody. Guests were then served a tantalising Dessert.

It was now time for David and Melissa’s first dance. Melissa had changed into a ‘bolero’ type gown for the dance and looked absolutely dazzling. Guests danced and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon before it was time for the bouquet toss and the final dance.

David and Melissa are a truly beautiful couple who had been engaged for three years. They organised their whole wedding in around three weeks, so it was a great credit to them that they pulled it off. It was a lovely reception with guests enjoying the afternoon as we celebrated this life long commitment. Melissa and David, thank you for your trust and the great honour and privilege you bestowed on  me in allowing me to be your Sydney Wedding DJ and MC for your wedding celebration –  may love, laughter and music fill your lives forever.

  • Charity Event | 26 October 2012 | Girls Night In | Dee Why RSL

The Northern Beaches Girls Night started in a backyard in 2010 after a close friend of  Kirsty Gardener was diagnosed with breast cancer. Twenty people attended, raising about $1000. As everybody knows, a cancer diagnosis not only affects the individual, but also family members and friends and sadly, every year in Australia around 17,500 women are diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer.

Last year I was approached to see if I would be interested in providing support in the form of entertainment for this fund raising effort to assist the Cancer Council women’s cancer research, prevention, support programs and those affected by Cancer in general. I immediately offered my support and it was a great night raising $13,000 odd dollars. I was once again approached a few months ago and did not hesitate one nano second to once again provide support for this great cause.

On Friday night in the largest room available at Dee Why RSL, the 2012 Northern Beaches Girls Night In was a sell out with 550 beautiful and generous ladies attending, to have fun, be pampered, be entertained, party and contribute to the fund raising effort…….and what a night it was, an acoustic performance from country music singer-songwriter Amber Lawrence, pampering activities, a photo booth, Bollywood dancers and yours truly the fund raising target was well and truly smashed…with in excess of $33,000 raised.

Rather than writing about how great a night it was, I am going to quote some comments from the Northern Beaches Girls Night In Facebook page instead, but you need only look through the photographs and videos below to see that it was such a fantastic night.

“We all had soooo much fun last night! And soooo much dancing, hahahaa – haven’t done that for a while! Thanks for organising this great event for a great cause, it was awesome.”

“What a fantastic evening last night! I had so much fun especially the Bollywood Dancing! Thanks so much to Kirsty, Jen, Freya all the volunteers and the sponsors for making it such a terrific night. I can’t wait to hear how much money was raised!!”

“All the ladies dancing Gangnam style, Bollywood, YMCA. Girls really know how to have fun. Thank for a fantastic night.”

“Fantastic night…..sore feet from groovn’! Book me in for next year!! Hope you raised lots!”

Big thanks to the organising team of Kirsty, Jen and Freya and also to Bree who played a big part on the evening with auctions etc. It was such a huge honour to be a part of  this evening and I am very pleased with the fund raising outcome!
