• Wedding Song Remake – Someone To Watch Over Me by Amy Winehouse

“Someone to Watch Over Me” is a song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the 1926 musical ‘Oh, Kay!’. Popularised by Frank Sinatra in 1946, the song was recorded by Amy and appears on the Deluxe Edition of her album “Frank”.

This is a great cover of an amazing standard and makes for a splendid choice for either the Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dance.

    Someone To Watch Over Me

    There’s a saying old
    Says that love is blind
    Still we’re often told
    “Seek and ye shall find”
    So I’m going to seek
A certain lad I’ve had in mind

    Looking everywhere
    Haven’t found him yet
    He’s the big affair
    I cannot forget
    Only man I ever think
    Of with regret

    I’d like
    To add his initial
    To my monogram
    Tell me
    Where is the shepherd
    For this lost lamb?

    There’s a somebody
    I’m longin’ to see
    I hope that he turns
    Out to be
    Someone to watch over me

    I’m a little lamb
    Who’s lost in the wood
    I know I could
    Always be good
    To one
    Who’ll watch over me

    Although he may
    Not be the man some
    Girls think
    Of as handsome
    To my heart
    He carries the key

    Won’t you tell him please
    To put on some speed
    Follow my lead
    Oh, how I need
    Someone to watch over me

    Won’t you tell him please
    To put on some speed
    Follow my lead
    Oh, how I need
    Someone to watch over me
    Someone to watch over me

  • Wedding Professionals Unveiled: Chanele Rose Flowers & Styling

I first met Lina Bteddini from Chanele Rose Flowers & Styling in December 2010 at the NSW Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence where she was a finalist in two categories, Floral Design and Wedding Decorating. Lina is truly a master of her craft and has absolutely transformed many events through her unique flair for floral arrangements and styling.  Her work is always impeccable, unique and breathtaking and has been featured in many publications including Modern Wedding, Cosmo Bride, The Knot, The Lane and Polka Dot Bride.

Lina and her small team are very friendly and always excited to collaborate with clients and other vendors to create a spectacular theme to suit individual styles. It is obvious that floral design and styling is a great passion and it truly shows! Accordingly, it gives me great pleasure to spotlight this modern and stylistic floral designer & stylist; Chanele Rose Flowers & Styling.

Where are you located, and what geographical area(s) do you service?

Based in Rosebery, but service the entire Sydney Metropolitan Area.

How long have you been in business?

Chanele Rose began approx 3.5yrs ago.

What drew you to Floral Design and Event Styling as a profession?

It all started with a few short courses in floristry and I was hooked. I tried working in a florist shop but found that was not for me as I could not cope with being tied down in the one place! Started working with a few professionals in the wedding industry and loved it – I have not looked back since!

Styling has only been a new addition to the business as my photo shoots which I have styled have taken off in an incredible way – we are now being asked for styling tips by many brides who find themselves needing some tips in this area. We love Styling events just as much as we love floristry and I feel the two go hand in hand really!

What do you feel sets you apart as a Floral Designer & Event Stylist?

Pouring my heart and soul into each little detail that goes into styling each event! Chanele Rose Flowers are well known to intuitively understand exactly what people really want and delivering on the details. The team’s key values are integrity, reliability, pride & passion and are an inspiring bunch backed by a close knit family. Passionate about ensuring that the wedding or special event is all the client has dreamed and more.

What do you love most about your job?

I do love that every wedding is unique, love to meet new couples and working with them closely too!

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be?

Looney and a bit of a martyr!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 25 February 2012 | Tumbling Waters Retreat, Stanwell Tops

“Once In a While, Right in the Middle of an Ordinary Life, Love Gives Us a Fairy Tale” – Anonymous.

‘S’ did not like ‘T’ much when they first met. But they became friends and that friendship grew into love. Here we now were on an absolutely beautiful February day, at one of my favourite locations, Tumbling Waters Retreat, to witness and celebrate the beginning of S and T’s “happy ever after”.

The ceremony, officiated by T’s father, was held on the lawns overlooking the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the clear blue skies in the horizon. A special song entitled “Loving You”, written especially for S & T’s wedding by groomsman Stephen, was performed during the signing of the Register, adding a lovely touch to this special moment. (A recording of this performance is available below).

Whilst S & T had photographs around the property and off site, the guests enjoyed refreshments, canapes and the amazing view. Shortly afterwards the reception commenced. The wedding party and our ever so happy couple were greeted with great applause. A delicious meal, interspersed with some lovely heartfelt speeches from S’s dad, T’s mum and dad, S’s sister, friends B & F and last but not least, T. The wedding cake was cut and it was time for S & T’s fist dance as a married couple. Part way through they were joined by the members of the wedding party and the parents, followed by the remainder of the guests. Dancing followed before it was time for the bouquet toss – it went straight up and ricocheted off the chandelier. This was followed by a special moment for S and her dad during the father/daughter dance. Back to dancing and before we knew it it was time for the farewell dance and S and T left to begin their new life together.

S and T’s wedding was very special. You could see how happy they were to be married. Whenever you were in their presence, you could feel the love between them. It was the bringing together of two cultures, but more so, it was two beautiful individuals whose love is greater than that in any fairy tale. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your amazing day. S and T enjoy your “happy ever after”. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever.
