Wedding DJ Sydney

  • Wedding Reception | 5 December 2021 | Lara & Angus | Centennial Homestead, Centennial Parklands, Sydney

WOW!! what a cracker of a day!!! Lots of laughter, love, joy and happiness. My kind of day! Lara and Angus are totally perfect for each other. Genuine, thoughtful, confident and just the right amount of silly. I totally adored spending the day celebrating with them, surrounded by their families, friends and so much joy!

Lara and Angus met in 2007 at University, where they were both undertaking Science degrees and their relationship started with them being friends for quite a number of years. Secretly however, Angus had a crush on Lara and eventually, in 2014, found the courage to ask Lara out on a date.

It was not until 21 March 2020 that Angus surprised Lara with a proposal at their home. During a gathering, on his birthday, with a few friends, after cutting his birthday cake, the friends were calling for a speech. During his speech his invited Lara to join him. When she did, he said to her, “I never told you what I wanted for my birthday” and then reach into his pocket, went down on one knee and asked Lara to marry him. Lara welled up but responded with a resounding “Yes!”.

The original date planned for the wedding was 21 August 2021, but due to Greater Sydney and most of NSW being in lock down, it was postponed until 5 December 2021. Lara & Angus selected Centennial Homestead as the location for their reception. Surrounded by rolling green lawns, lakes and exquisite gardens, Centennial Homestead is located within Sydney’s Centennial Parklands and is perfect for a wedding celebration. Whilst earlier in the week, the high possibility of rain had been forecast, it was in fact a beautiful day and no rain in sight.

The reception was filled with an abundance of fun, laughter and joy. Everybody was there to celebrate with our beautiful couple. From the cheers to welcome the wedding party and Lara & Angus, to the lovely, fun and humourous speeches, the father daughter dance and the stunning choreographed first dance, to the farewell exit, it was so wonderful to see everybody so happy for them both.

One of the highlights of any wedding day for me is watching the connection between my couples. As mentioned, these two delightful people were friends before they fell in love and their affection and love for each other was so wonderful to witness. They make each other laugh so easily, and are so generous of themselves and their warmth with everyone around them. I loved spending the day with them & their family & friends.

Lara and Angus, thank you for your trust in me as your Sydney Wedding MC & Sydney Wedding DJ and allowing me to contribute to and witness such a magical and unforgettable day! I smile every time I think about it all. You came together in hope, are joined by a promise and united in love. Have a lifetime of laughs, an eternity of love, and an abundance of happiness as you start this new chapter as Mr & Mrs! May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

  • Wedding Reception | 1 June 2019 | Deana & Matthew | Le Montage, Lilyfield, Sydney

Just a very short post this time round on Deana and Matthew’s amazing wedding. There were so many elements that made Deana and Matthew’s wedding as amazing as it was – this needed my complete attention throughout the reception to ensure everything flowed as seamlessly as possible and unfortunately, there was very little time that I could spare to take more photographs, but please enjoy those that I managed to capture. I have also included a few photographs taken by the talented Phao Photography (these images are appropriately watermarked and should not be confused with my images which contain no watermark).

Deana and Matthew are a beautiful couple who are perfect together. They are caring, gentle, hilarious and fiercely loyal to their family and friends. They celebrated the first hours of their marriage at Le Montage, located in the Sydney suburb of Lilyfield which was lavishly adorned with stunning florals by John Emmanuel Floral Design.

Right from the start of the reception, everybody was there to celebrate and help them have the time of their lives, and what a time we had!!!

The guests cheered, clapped, laughed, sang, danced, enjoyed a beautiful meal, danced some more and kept on dancing right through to the end of the reception!

Deana and Matthew, THANK YOU for trusting me to be a part of your truly amazing day, it was a privilege to see the beautiful beginning of your forever after .. You are both awesome! May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 29 March 2019 | James & Jerome | Ecco Ristorante, Drummoyne, Sydney

James and Jerome met just over thirty years ago. They share a love for ballet, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, travel and Kylie Minogue and today, they were making it all official, exchanging vows and becoming husbands.

It was a beautiful Sydney afternoon as family and friends gathered on the deck at Ecco Ristorante in Drummoyne with a stunning view of Sydney Harbour as a backdrop. Shortly afterwards, to the sounds to Pachelbel’s Canon in D, exquisitely played by Jasmine Strings, James, Jerome and their Wedding Party proceeded to walk down the aisle. What followed was a beautiful ceremony, which was wonderfully officiated by Kathyrn Breusch. The ceremony included heartfelt vows from both James and Jerome. Before we knew it they were married and pronounced husband and husband!

This was followed by drinks and canapes whilst guests congratulated James and Jerome, chatted, caught up and enjoyed the spectacular view. Not long after, everyone was seated, the wedding party were introduced and welcomed with great applause, with the biggest applause for James and Jerome. Guests were then served a delicious entree.

Next was the cake cutting, a presentation of a gift to James and Jerome and a dance off where one of the guests whom was celebrating a birthday was inconspicuously made the target of a fun prank, in a nice way of course. Lots of fun for the participants, guests and Ian our birthday boy!!

Guests then enjoyed a delectable main meal before we proceeded with the speeches. James, Jerome and Jerome’s sister Lesley all made lovely speeches, but the highlight was a little surprise that Jerome had planned for James. Jerome is a huge ABBA fan and he approached me about doing his speech which included sound drops of particular ABBA songs. We discussed a number of ways to execute this, but ultimately went for the option which would flow better and eliminate any potential hiccups. This was a HUGE hit with all the guests and of course James.

Below is Jerome’s speech with the red text being where the drop from the ABBA song occurred:

    My dearest James,

Mamma Mia! Here we are, on our wedding day proving that when it comes to love – The Winner Takes It All. It was fate that brought us together thirty years ago when you said, “Take A Chance On Me“. You really did Rock Me. In no time at all we began Knowing Me, Knowing You and once we worked out The Name Of The Game, we had fallen well and truly Head Over Heels. I feel like a Dancing Queen whenever you Lay All Your Love On Me. You make my heart go Ring Ring and all I have to do is send out an SOS and you’re always there to Gimme!, Gimme!, Gimme! support, advice or a shoulder to cry on. Today I have truly met my Waterloo and I could not wait to say I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do. All that’s left is to ask – “Voulez-Vous?”

You can hear Jerome’s speech here:

Guests then gathered around the dance floor as James and Jerome danced their first dance together as husbands. It was a choreographed dance to “Give Me Your Love” by Fame – once again enjoyed by all the guests. With no formalities left, all there was to do was dance the night away….and dance they did!!

Before we knew it, it was time to farewell James and Jerome and the celebration came to an end. James and Jerome’s wedding represented them totally, there was no pretense, just authenticity. It was a lot of FUN and from the comments I received as guests were leaving, everyone had such a wonderful time. James and Jerome, thank you for the trust you placed in me – it was a privilege to play a part in your wedding day which was thirty years in the making. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
