  • Charity Event | 5 September 2014 | Girls Night In | Dee Why RSL

According to the Cancer Council, the Northern Beaches Girls Night In is the biggest such event in Australia! DJ:Plus! Entertainment has been supporting this event every year since 2011and was very proud to support it again in 2014. It was a wonderful night full of varied entertainment, having a heap of fun and raising money for the Cancer Council, and in particular Women’s Cancers.

The entertainment this year included Amber Lawrence, who has supported the event since 2012, Spirit Taekwondo – Brookvale, Northern Beaches Chorus and the showgirls from Xtend Barre. In addition there was an online raffle, games, pink envelopes and other fund raising activities.

Lovely ladies from the Northern Beaches, THANK YOU for supporting this event, thank you for always getting into the spirit of the theme and looking so fabulous, thank you for having so much FUN!!, but most of all, thank you for your generosity. Not sure how much was raised as yet, but will endeavour to update this post once I know.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to Kirsty and ALL her team of volunteers who work tirelessly to make this happen each year. The logistics of putting an event such as this on should not be underestimated and these ladies unselfishly give up their time to make it happen for the benefit of others.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, so I do not intend to write any more and let the photos and video below do the talking. If you enjoyed the evening and feel so inclined, please leave a comment or share this post. Enjoy!!

  • Alison’s Surprise “I Love the 80’s” 30th Birthday Celebration | 19 July 2014 | Cronulla RSL Club

Last October I was contacted by Kieran about Alison’s 30th Birthday which he had begun organising. He explained that it was going to be a surprise for Alison and an “80’s” theme. Having entertained at Alison and Kieran’s wedding in 2009 and having developed a special connection with them both as we planned their amazing wedding, I felt deeply honoured and immediately jumped at the chance to be part of another of Alison’s lifetime milestone events.

Fast forward to last Saturday night where Alison was under the impression that she and Kieran were going to have a romantic celebratory dinner. Kieran had persuaded Alison to wear a blindfold and carefully guided her into the room where everybody was waiting very quietly. As she entered the room I hit play and as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper commenced playing Alison, still blindfolded, was startled by the sound following which Kieran removed the blindfold and standing before her were invited family and friends. I wish I had been able to get a photo of her reaction as I don’t quite have the words to describe it….but let’s just say that she certainly had no idea whatsoever and was very surprised!!

After recovering from the surprise, Alison greeted the guests and a little while later went and changed into some “80’s” attire which Kieran had organised. From there on in everybody celebrated with Alison and made it a night that she will always remember. The was lots of dancing, singing and some fooling around, but it was all heaps of FUN….and all to an 80’s soundtrack!

It was such a joy to be there and see these two beautiful individuals again. Hope you enjoy the photos which follow Alison!

  • Charity Event | 13 September 2013 | Girls Night In | Dee Why RSL

DJ:Plus! Entertainment is extremely proud to have supported the Northern Beaches Girls Night In for the third consecutive year. For those that are not aware this is a fund raising initiative to assist the Cancer Council with women’s cancer research, prevention, support programs and those affected by Cancer in general.

This year the ladies gathered in the newly renovated Showroom of the Dee Why RSL, for a 1920’s Glam themed event. The ladies, who all looked absolutely fabulous, were entertained by Alfredo Malabello, Amber Lawrence and The Stage Artz Theatre Company amongst the Silent Auction, Heads & Tails Game, Raffles, Prizes and surprises.

It was an amazing night and heaps of FUN, all for a great cause. I am not going to go on, except to say that these ladies are fantastic! They know how to party and enjoy themselves, yet be extremely generous at the same time. The total amount raised is still being finalised, but I will be sure to update this post once the figure is available.

I hope you enjoy the photographic and videographic summary of this fabulous Event from which the proceeds will help many Cancer sufferers. Please feel free to leave any comment should you feel inclined.
