Blue Mountains

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 14 October 2017 | Eliza & Duncan | Seclusions, Rydal, Blue Mountains

Eliza and Duncan met whilst on a course in Sydney in 2011. Duncan’s first impression of Eliza was that she was attractive and sophisticated plus she had this ever so infectious laugh. Eliza on the other hand thought that Duncan was a bit of a clown, laid back and easy going. On their first date, a very nervous Duncan pulled out all the stops to impress Eliza and treated her to takeaway, a case of beer and a “really crap movie”. But despite the movie, within weeks they knew they were in love.

Eliza and Duncan are opposites in many ways but at the same time complement each other. Eliza is a vegetarian whilst Duncan is a meat eater, Eliza can’t swim and Duncan is a sports lover and the list goes on. They both share a similar sense of humor, find it very easy to talk to each other, they calm each other down and are totally in love.

On 19 February 2016 Duncan proposed to Eliza and here we were today at Seclusions in the Blue Mountains where they would exchange vows and become one. Although there was a constant drizzle throughout the day, it did ease off for a little while and provided enough time for the ceremony, officiated by Carl Scully CMC, to proceed in the stunning amphitheatre ceremony area and photographs & video to be taken around the property by Natalie Bailey Photography and Puzzleman Productions.

Guests enjoyed games, drinks and canapes in the rustic barn on the property and were later joined by Eliza, Duncan and their wedding party. Shortly afterwards we welcomed our newlyweds and their wedding party into the Pavilion for the reception. On entry Eliza and Duncan made their way to the dance floor for their first dance. This was followed by Eliza sharing a dance with her uncle. Next up was the first segment of speeches, the cake cutting before guests where presented with a delicious banquet of delicacies, prepared by RedPepper Catering. A fun game involving our bride & groom, the second set of speeches, a video clip from Eliza’s hens night, another fun game which engaged the guests, dessert and the centrepiece giveaway before speeches from Eliza and Duncan. From there on in it was dancing time!

It was a really fun wedding, everybody was relaxed, easy going and there to help Eliza and Duncan celebrate their wedding day. There were so many highlights, from the roasting that Duncan received to the sentimental heartfelt moments, I am sure those in attendance will always look back on this day with very fond memories. Eliza and Duncan are genuine, down to earth and totally adore each other – you need only look at the photographs below to see how their faces light up whenever they are together. They have FUN in everything they do.

Thank you so much for giving me the great honour and privilege. It was a great pleasure – all of it! I enjoyed our periodic chats, hearing about those little hiccups that were encountered in regards to the wedding, about your card playing, overseas trip, all of it, but being able to witness you become one as you both exchanged vows in typical Eliza & Duncan style, truly brought a smile to my heart. This love will continue to grow over the years and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity given to me to act as your Blue Mountains Wedding MC & DJ. Have a wonderful time in Broome! May, love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 7 October 2017 | Hanyip & Jeremy Workman | Fairmont Resort, Leura, Blue Mountains

Hanyip and Jeremy first met in November 2011. Hanyip was on a working holiday visa and had picked up a casual job at a take-a-way sushi shop whilst visiting her aunt and uncle in Sydney for a few weeks. Jeremy frequented the shop daily to buy lunch, but one day turned up earlier than normal. The shop was not busy as the lunch time rush was yet to start. Jeremy ordered his lunch and sat outside. Hanyip noticed that he appeared to be watching her and when the opportunity arose, Jeremy asked Hanyip her name. Two days later he asked her if she would like to go for a coffee. This led to another date and the rest is history!

It was a beautiful spring Blue Mountains day and it was just perfect weather for a very special wedding. Hanyip’s family and close friends traveled from Korea to be at the Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains suburb of Leura for the wedding ceremony and reception. The Fairmont Resort is located  on the cusp of the dramatic Jamison Valley which affords it stunning views and picturesque surrounds.

Guests gathered for the ceremony at the Jamison Valley Green. At the allotted time, the bridesmaids and Hanyip made their way down the aisle to the groomsmen and Jeremy who were waiting. It was a simple, but beautiful ceremony, exquisitely officiated by Tina McCormack before this union of two cultures was declared as one love and Hanyip and Jeremy were pronounced husband and wife!

In December, They will continue the festivities with a second celebration as Hanyip and Jeremy celebrate their marriage with a South Korean style ceremony. Some of Jeremy’s family and friends will be making the journey to celebrate again with them.

The reception was full of fun, emotion and good times. The evening was highlighted by some great speeches, a game and soon after everyone was up on the dance floor.I am certain that Hanyip and Jeremy will look back with many fond memories on their beautiful wedding day. No doubt this recalling the finer things will be made easier with the images captured by Xtraordinary Photos & Video, who were fantastic to work with!

Hanyip and Jeremy, you are two super down to earth and relaxed people. You have been on quite the journey together and the emotion that was expressed during my time with you is a real testament to that. As your journey together as one continues, your love for each other will deepen and you will continue to share many adventures and memories together.

Thank you for entrusting me with your wedding day as your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ, Blue Mountains Wedding MC and ceremony entertainment. It was such a pleasure meeting you both, hearing your unique love story and providing assistance in the planning process. Have a truly enjoyable time in Fiji and in South Korea in December! May, love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 4 March 2017 | Dryridge Estate, Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains

Following a week of rain leading up to K & M’s wedding and rain forecast for their wedding day, this beautiful couple, who have requested privacy, but graciously allowed me to share some location and décor photographs, took it all in their stride, made some slight allowances and let the day unfold without any fuss or stress whatsoever. Rain did fall throughout the day, sometimes heavy and sometimes creating a misty haze of water, but it did not dampen this couple’s resolve to have the best wedding day ever.

In the lead up to the wedding K & M also experienced their venue being sold and having to deal with finding an alternate location for their wedding only a couple of months from their wedding day. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as their replacement venue of Dryridge Estate, located in the Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains was so lovely. Dryridge Estate which is nestled in the beautiful Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains, surrounded by towering sandstone escarpments, Dryridge Estate is a stunning boutique vineyard which has recently added facilities for weddings and private functions.

Minutes before ceremony time we made the call to risk conducting the ceremony outside under the tree overlooking the vineyards. Except for a few drops here and there, the ceremony proceeded without incident and K & M were married. A quick group photo before the rain came down with guests just making it to the protection offered by the Marquee. Meanwhile K & M and the photographer braved the elements for photographs around this picturesque property.

Well what a truly wonderful evening it was!! K & M commenced proceedings by performing a choreographed dance on entry to “Cantina Band” from Star Wars by John Williams before guests joining them for a short dance set. This was followed by a delicious buffet where we released the tables one at a time after each table had participated in a selection of various activities ranging from Bride & Groom Trivia, Singing For their Supper and Guessing the Song. All this was interspersed with lovely heartfelt speeches, the Newlywed Game and the Cake cutting before everybody hit the dance floor again. Dancing continued until the end of the evening and ended with on a high with everyone singing and dancing to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.

K & M’s wedding was lots of fun, intimate, personal,  relaxed and overflowing with love. It was an extreme honour and pleasure to have been given the opportunity to play a part in their lifetime event. They are an awesome couple who are so deeply in love. They created a wedding that was a joyous fun celebration.. and I LOVED every second of it. Thank you for the trust placed in me as your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ, Blue Mountains Wedding Ceremony DJ and assisting as your Blue Mountains Wedding MC – I will cherish the experience and memories. May, love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!
