  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 29 March 2014 | Rochelle & Jason | Yester Grange, Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains

    Rochelle and Jason are both in the Air Force and it is where they both met. A few months later on a night out with a group of friends, they kissed for the very first time. On their 5th Anniversary during a picnic lunch in the Blue Mountains, Jason asked Rochelle to be with him forever. Fast forward to 29 March 2014 and here we were at Yester Grange to witness two beautiful individuals make lifelong commitments and become husband and wife.

    It rained in the days leading up to the wedding and whilst the forecast for their wedding day was “possible showers”,  the weather gods smiled upon Rochelle & Jason and only the slightest sprinkles fell just as Rochelle was about to arrive and ever so briefly part way through the ceremony. The ceremony, officiated by Tina Marie Sheil, was a perfect reflection of who Rochelle and Jason are. Given that we had avoided the rain, and the ceremony was able to go ahead as planned, the first line of the Apache Wedding Blessing, certainly bought a smile to my face as I felt it was just so appropriate;

    “Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other”

    Following the ceremony, whilst Rochelle, Jason and their wedding party had photographs both off and on site, guests enjoyed themselves by chatting, mingling or playing a variety of lawn games whilst being served canapes and refreshments. A little while later, guests were invited to make their way into this lovely venue for the reception.

    Personalised introductions, a special bouquet presentation to Rochelle’s grandparents who will have been married 56 years this coming October, fun activities, speeches and a very special first dance which had many of the guests, parents and even Rochelle shed a tear or two – created a magical moment and memories which I am certain will be remembered for a long time to come. The rest of the evening guests spent dancing, socialising and celebrating their love.

    When I first spoke with Rochelle and Jason, they both expressed that they wished their wedding to be relaxed and stress free – I believe we achieved this with their wedding (plus added a little fun and a few surprises) and they got to experience the wedding of their dreams. Rochelle and Jason, thank you very much for the trust you both placed in me and for allowing me to be a part of your very special day as your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ & MC, it was such a huge honour and privilege. Thank you for sharing your love story with me and thank you for all that you do in the Air Force and protecting our beautiful country. Let me conclude with another quote from the Apache Wedding Blessing, “Now you are two persons, but there is one life before you”. Rochelle and Jason, may love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

  • Wedding Reception | 16 November 2013 | Tanya & Brad | The Carrington, Katoomba, Blue Mountains

    Well here I was back at the Carringtion Hotel in Katoomba again for the second time in four weeks, this time for Tanya and Brad’s wedding. Unfortunately the rain somewhat ruined Tanya and Brad’s plans for an outdoor ceremony, but none the less their love shone extremely brightly and surrounded by family and friends, they were married in the Lounge area of the Hotel and became husband and wife.

    It was a beautiful ceremony that included Tanya and Brad’s little daughter Ellie as Flower Girl and their friend Heidi providing the music for the ceremony and pre-dinner drinks. Following the ceremony there were photographs taken before Tanya, Brad and the Wedding Party went on a limo ride around Katoomba.

    Later guests made their way into the Grand Dining Room for the reception. The  Wedding Party made their way into the room to personalised introductions before everyone was up on their feet to give Tanya and Brad a really great welcome. A few words from Brad then guests were served a beautiful Entree.

    Wonderful speeches from Tanya’s Parents Narelle and Richard and Brad’s Mum, Cassie before we had a little fun finding out how well Tanya and Brad knew each other, which was enjoyed immensely by all the guests. The cutting of the cake, Main Meal and we then had a speech from Brad’s brother and Best Man, Mitch. Brad was up next to speak, but unbeknownst to either Brad or Tanya, Brad’s Mum Cassie had assisted me in obtaining a message from Brad’s grandmother who was unable to attend the wedding. When I played this message and Brad heard his grandmother’s voice, he became very emotional and we needed to pause for a very brief moment whilst he recomposed himself. It was a such a beautiful moment and demonstrated the special love between a grandparent and a grandchild. When Brad finally got up to speak he was still visibly affected by the message and found it difficult to speak at times.

    Dessert was then served and then we witnessed a beautiful choreographed first dance from Tanya and Brad which ended with a spectacular lift, dip and kiss which I was unfortunately unable to capture due to ensuring the music finished at the right moment. Guests then joined our newly weds and partied for many hours.

    Despite the rain it was a beautiful wedding and based on comments received, Tanya and Brad’s brief of wanting a beautiful, smooth-flowing and fun wedding was met and maybe even (hopefully) exceeded. Tanya and Brad, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day. It was such a pleasure to have been a part of your day as your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ & MC. I enjoyed getting to know you both, your families and your friends. I hope you both had the time of your lives and that whenever you look back or think about your wedding day, it brings back nothing but fond memories. Enjoy your honeymoon in Singapore and Thailand and may love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!!

  • Amy & Jordan’s Wedding | 12 October 2013 | The Carrington, Katoomba, Blue Mountains

    Amy & Jordan met in kindergarten way back in 1992…….little did they know that this meeting would be the start of a of a truly wonderful friendship which would eventually grow into a deep love and lead to marriage 21 years later. But this is exactly what happened and here we were at The Carrington in Katoomba on their wedding day where two beautiful individuals married their kindy sweetheart!

    It was the perfect spring day with the sun shining brightly, not a cloud in the sky and there was even a surprise flash mob that happened moments before Amy was to walk down the aisle!!! (The flash mob was for some other unrelated purpose but we’ll just pretend that it was part of the planned pre-ceremony entertainment just for Amy & Jordan’s special day).

    Guests were gathered in The Lounge with Jordan waiting with his Best Man, Nathan and Groomsman, Josh. The music started and bridesmaid Rebecca commenced the walk down the aisle followed closely by Maid of Honour, Danni. Amy, escorted by her Dad, Barry fought to keep her composure as they made their way to Jordan. A beautiful ceremony, officiated by  Laurel-Anne Kenny-Levick followed and Amy and Jordan, after a seven year engagement, which began with Jordan’s  plans for a romantic proposal on Amy’s parents’ farm near Dubbo. He had planned to ask Amy to marry him on trip away on the farm. Having already received Amy’s parent’s blessing, it was to have occurred the day after it actually did. Whilst they were at the farm, the excitement he felt at the end of a perfect day spent together and an incredible feeling that, that particular moment was just right time, Jordan ditched his plans and that evening, whilst in their pyjamas, Jordan dropped to one knee, told Amy how much he loved her, told her how much he had always loved her and that he wanted to be by her side forever – and so here they were finally married!

    Following the ceremony, whilst Amy and Jordan and their wedding party went for photographs, guests enjoyed canapes and refreshment in the Lounge and Bar area of the hotel. A short time afterwards, we welcomed them all back for the start of the reception in the Grand Dining Room. It was such a lovely wedding full of much fun, laughter, tears, singing and of course, dancing. Surrounded by their dearest family and friends they celebrated surrounded by much love and those that only wanted the very best that life has to offer for them both

    Amy and Jordan, thank you for entrusting me with the huge responsibility of being your Blue Mountains Wedding DJ & MC. I feel extremely privileged that I got the opportunity to meet you both and witness the start of what will be, an amazing marriage. I enjoyed every moment of your wedding and beyond that from that initial enquiry. I could feel the love you both have for each other and know that you will both continue to nourish this love and it will continue to flourish. You both have beautiful values and your happiness is assured. Amy, it was an absolute delight planning the wedding with you -you have such a bright and bubbly disposition that I could not help but feel on top of the world after each and every single one of our conversations.  May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!!
