  • Wedding Songs – Marry Me by Train

Marry Me is a beautiful song by Train that really captures that insatiable passion that you get when you’re in love with someone, the way you can never get close enough and that no amount of time will really ever give you enough of that person. It comes from Train’s fifth album “Save Me In San Francisco” and was written by lead singer, Pat Monahan. This song would be great for ceremony processional, cutting of the cake or first dance. There are two versions of the song – one is just acoustic guitar and piano (very beautiful and emotive) and the other also has bass, drums and strings (which is a little more pop and upbeat). Both versions have been provided.

    Marry Me

Forever can never be long enough for me
Feel like I’ve had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won’t let them see
But there’s one thing left to do

Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
    Marry Me
    Today and every day
    Marry Me
If I ever get the nerve to say
    Hello in this cafe
    Say you will
    Mm-hmm
    Say you will
    Mm-hmm

Together can never be close enough for me
Feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I’ll wear out the words I love you
    And you’re beautiful
Now that the wait is over
And love has finally shown her my way
    Marry me
    Today and every day
    Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
    Say you will
    Mm-hmm
    Say you will
    Mm-hmm

    Promise me
    You’ll always be
    Happy by my side
    I promise to
    Sing to you
    When all the music dies

    And marry me
    Today and everyday
    Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
    Say you will
    Mm-hmm
    Say you will
    Marry me
    Mm-hmm

  • Wedding Songs – Amazed by Lonestar

This is not only one of the best songs for a wedding, it might also be one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Penned by Marv Green, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey, Amazed was released in 1999 comes from Lonestar’s Lonely Grill Album. The song oozes romance from every word, and with a powerful chorus, it is perfectly suited for a first dance. Two versions have been provided – the original, which has a country flavour and an alternate version.

    Amazed

    Every time our eyes meet
    This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
    Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I’ve never been this close to anyone or anything
    I can hear your thoughts
    I can see your dreams

I don’t know how you do what you do
I’m so in love with you
    It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
    With you by my side
    Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
    Baby, I’m amazed by you

    The smell of your skin
    The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
    Your hair all around me
    Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes

I don’t know how you do what you do
I’m so in love with you
    It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
    With you by my side
    Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
    Baby, I’m amazed by you

Every little thing that you do
I’m so in love with you
    It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
    With you by my side
    Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
    Baby, I’m amazed by you

  • Wedding Songs – Wedding Day by Seal

Wedding Day is from Seal’s 2007 album, System. The song was written by Seal for his wedding to supermodel Heidi Klum. Heidi, who duets with Seal on this song, admitted to being intimidated working with her husband: “Of course I was intimidated. He’s such a professional that he acts very different towards me in the studio. I was a bit stiff and nervous and he was just going, ‘Sing low and strong,’ even though my natural singing voice is quite high. But he wrote the song on our wedding day [10 May, 2005] and asked me to sing it with him, so I did”. In a beautiful way to honour their ongoing love, Seal and his wife renew their vows to one another each year on their anniversary.

I am sure most brides to be would be absolutely thrilled if their husband to be wrote a song for their wedding day. Wedding Day is a beautiful song and could be used for either the Register Signing or First Dance.

Please note: The Video Clip below omits a verse and a couple of choruses – as the clip is from The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, I assume that it had to be cut down due to overall timing issues.

    Wedding Day

Today, I give it, all to you,
On this day we recall the memories,
    Of what we’re goin’ through,

This day, we’re gonna win it,
    Givin’ you all above,
Many minds will recall with us tomorrow,
    Followin’ our love,

    In my heart a place,
    A most special place,
    And it’s all for you,
You’re my girl, you’re my, angel,

The will’s the same for us,
    Honey they can’t be wrong,
Cause everybody knows it was hard to break the sorrow,
    Then you came along,

    In my heart, a place,
    A most special place,
    And it’s all for you,
You’re my girl, you’re my angel, you’re my girl

Oo ooh, aa aah, oo ooh, oo oo oo ooh, oooh and you’re the one,

    In my heart, a place,
    A most special place,
    And it’s all for you,
    And it’s all for you,

In my heart, a place, and it’s all for you,
A most special place, and it’s all for you,
    And it’s all for you,
    You’re my girl,
You’re my heaven, you’re my world,

In my heart, a place, and it’s all for you,
A most special place, and it’s all for you,
    And it’s all for you,
You’re my girl, you’re my angel, you’re my girl
