This remake by Angus & Julia Stone has been stripped back and been given a completely different treatment which gives the song a whole new feel and meaning. “Lovesong” (also referred to as “Love Song”) is a song originally recorded by the English band, The Cure. Adele recorded a version of this song for her “21” Album, slowing it down and making it much more sentimental. Adele had first heard this song at her first concert ever, which happened to be The Cure. Cure lead singer Robert Smith originally wrote this as a wedding present for his fiancée, Mary, shortly before their marriage. American artist, Jes, also recorded a cover of this song. Whilst her original cover was a dance version, she also recorded an acoustic version which like Adele’s cover makes it much more sentimental. Both these versions would be perfect as background music at a wedding or a first dance.
