Wedding MC Sydney

Wedding Reception | 7 March 2015 | Amy & Lawrence Boyd | The Pontoon, Sydney Harbour, Sydney

One could not have wished for better weather for a wedding reception being celebrated on stunning Sydney Harbour – it was such a perfect autumn day full of sunshine, a gentle breeze and a beautiful couple whose love for each other was obvious from the first time I met them. Amy and Lawrence are both kind, humble and gorgeous individuals, inside and out. They have two totally adorable daughters and met in 2009 at a Eurovision party hosted by Lawrence’s mum.

Amy & Lawrence’s reception was held on The Pontoon, a luxury vessel offering 360° views of the Harbour – essentially a floating glass ballroom with a huge upper deck entertaining area. Guests boarded The Pontoon at the Man ‘O War Steps adjacent to Sydney Opera House and were greeted by Amy, Lawrence and their wedding party. Guests enjoyed, drinks, canapés and the spectacular views from the upper deck as we cruised around the harbour.

A short time later guests moved downstairs and we welcomed Amy & Lawrence with cheers, applause and twirling napkins!! A short welcome and thank you before guests were served a delicious entrée. This was followed by lovely speeches from Amy’s dad, Donald and Matron of Honour, Erin. All eyes were then on the two screens where a lovely slideshow featuring a pre-wedding photographic shoot was played (The slideshow can be viewed at the end of this post). A fun game to see how well Amy and Lawrence knew each other had guests laughing, smiling and aww-ing before a scrumptious main meal was served.

Wonderful speeches from both best man, Michael and Lawrence himself, the cutting of the cake, dessert and it was time for Amy & Lawrence to have their first dance as husband and wife. This was truly a magical and emotional moment – their love was evident throughout the song and it did end with some tears of happiness being shed. Guests then joined in on the dance floor.

As the clock stuck 9:00 pm, with precision timing, we were perfectly positioned to witness a fabulous fireworks display (that I like to think was in celebration of Amy & Lawrence’s wedding), with many guests taking the opportunity to venture onto the upper deck for a better view, whilst others continued to dance on! Further dancing continued until before we knew it, it was time to commence the farewells. A bouquet toss which ended in Amy’s mum, Donna catching the bouquet – Donna was so excited as she has been engaged for 30 years! A fun garter toss, a circle of love and it was time to send Amy & Lawrence on the way as they commenced the rest of their lives as a married couple.

It was such an honour to have been given the privilege of witnessing their love first hand. Amy is a little quiet, beautiful, spirited and radiates joy. Lawrence is outgoing, funny, gentle and completely adores her. They are an awesome couple who are so deeply in love and created a wedding which was a joyous fun celebration. Thank you for entrusting me with being your Sydney Wedding MC & Sydney Wedding DJ, it was such a pleasure getting to know you both and assisting you celebrate your lifelong commitment. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

Commitment Ceremony & Reception | 27 April 2014 | Robyn & Georgina | Deckhouse, Woolwich, Sydney

Call it what you want – wedding, commitment ceremony, a celebration of love – but I’m sure guests will agree Robyn and Georgina’s big day was a beautiful example of love, respect and courage. Their families and friends came from all over to show their support for this union. Their ceremony and reception was at Deckhouse in Woolwich, Sydney on an, unfortunately, wet autumn day.

Robyn and Georgina’s guests arrived by Ferry and were welcomed with drinks and canapés. A little while later the ceremony commenced and they made life-long promises and exchanged vows. It was a beautiful, intimate gathering of their closest friends and family, everyone celebrating with so much love, happiness and joy.

Following a beautiful meal, heartfelt words from both Robyn and Georgina and a toast from Jim Higgins, guests made their way onto the dance floor to shake their booties. Despite the rain, it was a beautiful celebration full of much love and lots of fun. Robyn and Georgina, thank you entrusting me as your Sydney Wedding DJ, it was an absolute honour and pleasure to be a part of your special day. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever!!!

Professional Photos of Katie & Scott’s Wedding | Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, Sydney

Three months ago today on the 16th March 2013 two beautiful people exchanged vows, professed their undying love for each other and become one ( happy three month anniversary Katie & Scott!!). I was so blessed to have been able to witness their ceremony and also be given the privilege of entertaining at Katie & Scott’s amazing wedding reception, both held at Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, Sydney.

It was also a great pleasure to work alongside Sue Taylor Photography (Global Sanctuary) who share the same ethos, dedication, commitment and attitude in every aspect of their profession and passion as I do – this is no doubt why they were declared the NSW winner for Wedding Photography in 2012 at the prestigious Australian Bridal Industry Academy Awards (ABIA). They were a total joy to work with and when I approached Sue Taylor, Global Sanctuary’s Founder & Managing Director about the possibility of sharing some images from Katie and Scott’s wedding day for this Blog, she did not hesitate for the slightest micro second. On receiving the images I was blown away with how beautifully everything was captured. Katie and Scott, who are an absolutely stunning couple anyway, look like they belong in a fashion magazine!!.(someone really needs to submit this wedding to a wedding magazine).

The essence of Katie & Scott’s wedding day celebration, the inner beauty of this special couple is beautifully represented and their obvious happiness captured perfectly. I was able to relive many beautiful moments from this very special day as their Sydney Wedding DJ & MC. Thank you so much Sue.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 11 May 2013 | Tumbling Waters Retreat, Stanwell Tops

It did start to rain a little before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, after what was a sunny morning, but the rain could not compete with the force of the great love held for our beautiful couple by all those gathered and by the time the ceremony was scheduled to begin, the rain was just a very fine mist allowing us to proceed in the garden at Tumbling Waters Retreat overlooking the stunning vista as planned.

“G & “M” have requested privacy which I totally respect and honour; so there will be no photographs of this beautiful couple or their guests, but I have included a selection from the day so you may appreciate the care taken with their wedding dream, take inspiration from some of their styling ideas and admire the beauty of this wonderful location.

Following the ceremony, whilst “G” & “M” had photographs taken around the Tumbling Waters Retreat grounds, guests enjoyed canapés and drinks on the deck and availed themselves to Kumar, the caricature artist who on hand to provide a sketch of each guest – what a great memento to have and take home! Soon the wedding party were ready to enter the reception began. A short welcome and thank you from “M” before guests were served their delicious entrée.

“G” & “M” then cut their Pavlova wedding cake before we played the newlywed game, which the guests absolutely loved!! This was followed by another quick game to determine who the lucky guest was at each table who would take home the stunning centrepiece – flowers and vase! Let me tell you there were some very excited guests!  The main meal was then served before it was time for the Magic Show. “G” & “M” secured the services of Matt Holllywood, who has worked from everyone from Seinfeld through to Jerry Lewis and Robbie Williams. Matt dazzled and entertained the guests with both his magic and comedy, and was enjoyed by all.

Dessert, lovely speeches from “G”‘s dad, the bestman, “M” & “G” and it was time for the first dance – a special moment which was if they were both encased in a bubble and oblivious to anything around them – it was so beautiful. Joined on the dance floor by the wedding party and guests, everyone proceed to enjoy the rest of the evening. Before long it was time for the farewell dance before departing to start their new married life together.

“G” & “M” it was such a joy meeting you both, hearing you love story and I really love how you complement and bounce of each other, I love your honesty, I love how you make each other laugh and how obvious it is that you are both so very deeply in love with each other – it truly makes my heart happy!. Thank you so much for placing your trust in me, giving me the great honour of sharing some of your wedding journey with you and being your Sydney Wedding DJ & MC Entertainer – it was a magical experience [in more ways than one 🙂 ] . You are beautiful individuals and your love for each other and no nonsense approach to life will ensure an extremely happy future together.  May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

Wedding Reception | 23 March 2013 | Stephany and Jason Game | InterContinental Hotel, Sydney

It was at a Halloween party in October 2009 when Stephany and Jason first met and spent the next five hours chatting to each other. They have been virtually inseparable since. After only a month of meeting, they realised that they had both fallen so deeply in love with each other and within two and a half months from meeting at the Halloween party, they had moved in together.

Now even though Stephany knew within those first two months that Jason was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, it was not until October 2011 that Jason also came to the same realisation. He organised a romantic dinner and overnight stay at Establishment and between the Main and Dessert, Jason proposed to Stephany. A very happy Stephany accepted his proposal and the wedding planning began.

Here we were on a beautiful Autumn Sydney day (there were some very brief isolated showers during the afternoon, but they did not cause any disruptions) as friends and family gathered to celebrate the union of their love. Some had travelled from Peru and London to be with them on their special day. Whilst the ceremony was held in Balmain, Stephany & Jason selected the Treasury Room  at the InterContinental Hotel, Sydney as the location for their celebration. As guests arrived they were welcomed with refreshments and canapés whilst enjoying chatting, the background music and elegant surroundings.

Before long, it was time to welcome the wedding party and our extremely happy newly weds. They entered to cheers and applause before Stephany welcomed everyone with a few beautiful words. Entree was served and it was time for joint MC’s Phil & Pete to introduce the first of the speakers. Jason’s Dad, Mike was first followed by Stephany’s Uncle Charlie. Both made beautiful speeches with Stephany experiencing a range of emotions whilst her Uncle spoke.

Following a lovely main meal, Phil & Pete were back for the cutting of the cake  and to introduce the rest of the speakers for the evening. Commencing with Maid of Honour, Joanna, then Best Man, Daniel and last but not least, Jason. The lovely words, humourous stories and beautiful wishes truly reflected the gorgeous couple that Stephany and Jason are and was enjoyed by all.

Guests were then served the wedding cake as dessert  and it was finally time for Stephany and Jason’s first dance. They had been learning a choreographed routine for a number of weeks and I know that, Jason in particular, had expressed a little concern about remembering the steps and it all coming together in the week leading up to the wedding. Need he have felt this way? Not at all! It was great! I did manage to capture video of half the dance which can be seen below – take a look and you will see they did such a fantastic job!! Following this the wedding party and guests joined them on the dance floor and it was time to let their hair down and party to the early hours…..which we did!!!……except for a short break for the bouquet and garter toss.

Stephany and Jason wanted a traditional and elegant, yet totally fun wedding. This is exactly what they got!! Everybody enjoyed themselves immensely. The night flew by and before we knew it it was time to wrap things up with the farewell circle and a final farewell dance. It was such a lovely wedding celebration. Stephany and Jason, thank you for your trust in giving me the huge honour of being your Sydney Wedding DJ, a part of your special day and allowing me to witness the beautiful love you have for each other. You both enjoy life to the fullest and everything it has to offer. You both cherish and adore each other immensely. Your love will continue to grow. Your future will be full of much happiness. May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!
