Wedding MC Sydney

  • Wedding Reception | 20 December 2007 | Stacey & Ryan | Botanic Gardens Restaurant, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney

Reception for 50 guests held in the Botanic Gardens Restaurant which is located within the Royal Botanic Gardens, an oasis covering some 30 hectares in the heart of the Sydney, CBD. The Gardens wraps around Farm Cove at the edge of Sydney Harbour thereby occupying one of Sydney’s most spectacular positions. Subsequently it is an extremely popular location for wedding ceremonies and wedding photographs. The Botanic Gardens Restaurant is a stunning venue surrounded by tropical rainforest and boasting wide verandahs which overlook the harbour. Given that Ryan and Stacey met through their love of plants, it was the obvious choice for their wedding ceremony and reception.

The ceremony was held in the gardens earlier in the afternoon. Whilst the heaven’s kept threatening to open up and ruin Stacey and Ryan’s plans, with the benefit of planning they quickly enacted Plan B and relocated to an alternate location within the Gardens when light rain started to fall for what ended up being only a brief period. Although not the preferred location for the ceremony, they were blessed with the weather subsequently clearing and a beautiful Sydney evening. Stacey and Ryan even arranged for the guests to be shuttled from the ceremony location to the Restaurant by the trackless train which runs through the Gardens, treating the guests to a free tour of the fantastic vegetation, animal life and scenery.

It was a lovely, elegant and largely informal reception with lots and lots of dancing. From the moment Stacey and Ryan entered the reception they hit the dance floor, this was a cue for the majority of the guests to join them. May I say that being a small wedding reception, what the guests lacked in numbers, they certainly made up for it in enthusiasm and willingness to help make the evening an occasion that Stacey and Ryan will never forget. Essentially there was dancing at the very beginning, during background music, between meal courses and at the end of the evening – any time there was music playing, there were guests dancing!

The reception was made extra special with a large number of family and friends flying in from overseas to celebrate this wonderful occasion with Stacey and Ryan.

    Fun On The Dancefloor

As indicated above, the guests and the bride & groom just loved to dance, dancing at any and every available opportunity. Stacey and Ryan’s first dance (well it wasn’t really their first dance – they had already been dancing most of the night, let’s just call it the “official bridal dance”) was really lovely and certainly ‘amazed’ a lot of the guests.

  • Wedding Reception | 19 October 2007 | Lauren & Peter | Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont, Sydney

Reception for 70 guests held at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf located in Sydney. Doltone House has a number of rooms at this particular facility and Lauren and Peter decided on The Loft for their reception. The Loft is unique in that there are two distinct areas – upstairs for dining and downstairs for the dancing and socialising. Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf also has an outside area which affords views of the Harbour and the city skyline. Subject to weather, this area can be utilised for arrival drinks, which is exactly what Lauren and Peter elected to do given it was a beautiful Sydney day. Lauren previously worked as an event coordinator for this venue, so of course she was very aware of everything it had to offer.

It certainly was a lovely, elegant and fun reception with a number of emotional moments during the speeches. What was really evident was the very deep love that Lauren and Peter have for each other – I could not help but notice their continuous displays of affection.

    Bouquet Toss

As there was no dance floor the bouquet toss took place to the side of the stage. Karen elected to toss the bouquet from the stage. As you will see and hear, the single ladies really enjoyed this formality. Congratulations to the lucky bouquet catcher!!
