Wedding Ceremony DJ Sydney

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 29 July 2011 | Julianne & Luke | Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks, Mosman, Sydney

From my first conversation with Julianne and Luke, it was obvious that they are a warm, genuine and fun couple. As they are both currently based in Japan, the first opportunity to meet face to face was on Monday before the wedding – this meeting not only confirmed my initial impressions, but also revealed that they are a  beautiful couple, both inside and out, possessing very fine qualities and so very much in love.

Julianne and Luke selected the beautiful Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks as the location for their ceremony and reception. With the sun shining down on their love from the heavens, in a month when Sydney had experienced its wettest July in more than 50 years, they were blessed with an absolutely perfect day.

View from The Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks

The 75 invited family and friends gathered in the Gunners’ Barracks Courtyard for a beautiful ceremony officiated by Sarah Oluk. As Julianne, who looked positively stunning, walked down the aisle escorted by her Dad, she had the most beautiful smile. Luke’s face lit up at this vision and I am sure it will be a special moment he will treasure forever. Surrounded by those near and dear, Julianne and Luke held hands, exchanged vows and rings, and became one in marriage as the sun slowly began to set.

“From the moment I first met you,
I knew you were the person that I
wanted to share my life with,
Your beauty, charm, heart and spirit
inspire me to be the best that I can be.
I promise to respect you, honour you,
protect you and love you for eternity.”
                                      ~ Luke

“I choose you in friendship and in love,
    in strength and weakness,
to share the good times and misfortune,
    in achievement and failure.
I will cherish and respect you through
all the changes in our lives,
forever being grateful that we found
    each other.”
                                          ~ Julianne

Following the ceremony, Julianne and Luke were able to relax and mingle with their guests on the verandah, enjoying the fabulous view, drinks and canapés as the sun finally disappeared into the horizon. Shortly afterwards, everybody began making their way into the main room for the beginning of the reception.

Luke made a short welcome speech before everybody was served their delicious entree. Speeches by Luke’s Mum, Lorraine, a toast by Luke’s Dad, Michal and, an unscheduled, surprise few words from Julianne’s Dad, David. A beautiful main meal before we heard from Maid of Honour, Karen who went on to detail some of Julianne’s adventures followed by Luke’s best friend and business partner, Zeeshan  recounting in a humorous manner, facts about Luke and the courtship.

Gunners’ Barracks staff then served guests a decadent dessert which was enjoyed by all and in no time at all, it was time for the cake cutting. I absolutely love the photograph (see below) that I managed to capture of Julianne and Luke’s kiss….a very special moment…you could feel the love and tenderness that they both share.

Guests were then invited out to the courtyard for Julianne and Luke’s first dance. To Angus and Julia Stone’s The Wedding Song, they danced under a canopy of fairylights and stars. Joined partway through by the members of the wedding party and then the guests, it was now party time. The rest of the evening was spent celebrating the union of these two beautiful people – some partied hard and others caught up and chatted away, fulfilling Julianne and Luke’s desire for a relaxed, intimate and personal wedding.

Julianne and Luke are very much connected and are so perfect for each other; every time they look at each other they both break out in a smile, almost as if they are the only two people on this earth – it literally made my heart sing. I am extremely honoured that you invited me to be part of your wedding day and that I was there to witness the deep love you share for one another. I know this love will continue to grow and your life together will be full of happiness and magical smiles. May love, laughter and music fill your lives forever.

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 13 February 2010 | Martine & Marc | Park Hyatt Hotel, Sydney

Martine is French and she and Marc first met in Cannes, five and a half years ago. They later met up again in London and spent several years together. Last year, on Valentine’s Day, Marc organised a surprise trip to a castle in the beautiful countryside of Devon where Marc proposed to Martine. Here we now were, on the eve to the anniversary of the proposal day, for the weddingMartine and Marc are a beautiful loving couple, and with their little daughter Keira, make a very lovely family. They selected the rooftop of the Park Hyatt Hotel, which is positioned right on Sydney Harbour and commands breathtaking views of both the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as the location of their wedding ceremony and reception. It was the perfect location for their intimate French-Australian fusion wedding.

Unfortunately with Sydney experiencing one of the wettest February’s for quite some time, it rained on and off throughout the day, but it did not affect the ceremony, reception or diminish the enjoyment of the celebration for any of the 31 invited guests.

The ceremony began with little Keira cutely making her entrance, followed by junior bridesmaid Brooke, bridesmaid Danielle, bridesmaid Kate and pageboy Dean. Martine, who looked fantastic, accompanied by Marc’s mum Hazel then made their way to the ceremony area where Marc and the groomsmen, Mark and Simon were waiting. The ceremony, officiated by Jacinta Gale was a lovely ceremony with Marc getting a little overwhelmed with the love he has for Martine during his promise to her. This of course caused Martine to also get a little emotional – it was certainly a very beautiful moment.

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the ground floor for pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the Hotel’s Club Bar, whilst Martine and Marc, along with their wedding party had photographs around the Hotel and Harbour. As there was a break in the rain, it presented the perfect opportunity to sneak in a group photo.

When guests returned to the rooftop area, it had been transformed into a beautiful reception area creating a little bit of Paris in Sydney. The Eiffel Tower centrepieces with the Sydney Opera House in the background reflected the French-Australian fusion that Martine and Marc were seeking brilliantly.

Directly after the wedding party were introduced, guests were treated to a scrumptious entrée and delicious main meal, whilst being entertained by Accordionist, Phillippe Wittwer complimenting and enhancing the French feel.

In no time at all, it was time for the speeches. First up grooms man Mark, then Marc’s friend, Melanie, Martine and to end, Marc. The speeches were all unique, moving, comical, heartfelt and entertaining and judging by the their reaction and actions, was enjoyed by all. At the conclusion of the speeches we surprised Martine with many messages from family and friends located all around the world (France, London, Scotland & United States). Hearing these messages and best wishes caused Martine, understandably, to become a little emotional. Knowing that each and everyone of their family and friends cared for them both and only wished them great happiness made them both feel very special.

In keeping with French tradition, a cheese course was then served to complete the meal. It was now time for Martine & Marc’s first dance – another lovely moment to a beautiful French song from Le Roi Soleil. At the conclusion of the dance, guests were surprised when the lovely dancers from Deja Vu Cabaret ran in and performed the Can Can. It was then time to party. A little later in the evening, the dancers performed another routine, Marc danced with his mum and much more partying with nearly all the guests on the dance floor.

Finally, two songs by The Proclaimers (to acknowledge Marc’s Scottish heritage) to end the evening. Everybody was gathered in a circle, dancing and singing, an excerpt of which can been seen in one of the videos below. As the reception ended, guests were then invited to join Martine and Marc in the Club Bar for a few last drinks to complete the celebration of their very special day.

Martine and Marc, thank you for allowing me to be a part of the beginning of your life together as husband and wife. I am certain that every one of your guests, like myself, will treasure the memory of being able to share in your wonderful celebration and the hopes and dreams you both hold for a bright and prosperous future – given your commitment to each other, I am certain that this is assured. Mai amour et la musique de remplir votre vie pour toujours!!!

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 14 November 2009 | Yolanda & Damien | Private Residence, Sydney

Everything needed for Yolanda and Damien’s wedding day was organised within three months, and what a great day it turned out to be. The ceremony and reception was held on Damien’s mothers rural property in Cecil Park on a perfect warm spring day with a slight breeze to make sure everybody kept cool – it certainly was a lovely setting for this fantastic couple to be united.

The 200 family and friends which had gathered to witness their beautiful ceremony, officiated by Baron Gold, shared in the absolute radiance of the day – that created by the sunshine and the greater radiance of the love that Yolanda and Damien have for one another. The flower girls, pageboys and bridesmaids and then Yolanda, escorted by her father Kurt, made their way through the garden to the arbour where Damien was waiting. In what seemed to be no time at all they were signing the Marriage Register and Baron was proclaiming them as husband and wife.

“I love you for yourself and will love you through good fortune and adversity
I make you a promise that from this day forward, you shall not walk alone
My heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home.”

Following the ceremony, the guests were treated to drinks and canapes in a specially created area just outside the large reception marquee whilst Yolanda, Damien and the wedding party had photographs taken around the property – including some with a red Mustang and a Harley Davidson.

Children’s entertainment in the form of Chuckles the Clown and Rocky Starr had also been organised to keep the kids amused and busy with various activities and face painting. This was enjoyed immensely by all the children and also allowed the parents to relax and enjoy themselves.

Yolanda and Damien were given a rousing welcome as they entered the marquee. A short welcome and thank you from Damien before guests were invited to partake of a fabulous buffet which had been prepared. Following dessert the best man, Darren recounted some tales of the life of Damien, the times they had shared and he also expressed how perfect a couple Yolanda and Damien made.

At the end of Darren’s speech, it was time for the cutting of the cake, a very passionate kiss and onto the dancing with Yolanda and Damien inviting all the guests to join them – which they did creating a fun party atmosphere. Throughout the evening, Damien, edged on by Darren, bust some moves on the dance floor to the delight of all present with “the helicopter” and “the sprinkler” being highlights. Needless to say, everybody had a wonderful time.

To end the evening, guests were again invited to share the last dance which created lots of energy and ended the reception on a high. Another beautiful couple which I had the privilege and honour of meeting, getting to know and playing a part in their special day. Yolanda and Damien’s love will continue to blossom as the passing years strengthens their love and life together. Given the fact that they were able to organise everything for their wedding in three months is testament to what is possible for these two as they take on the world together.
