  • Professional Photos of Katie & Scott’s Wedding | Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, Sydney

Three months ago today on the 16th March 2013 two beautiful people exchanged vows, professed their undying love for each other and become one ( happy three month anniversary Katie & Scott!!). I was so blessed to have been able to witness their ceremony and also be given the privilege of entertaining at Katie & Scott’s amazing wedding reception, both held at Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, Sydney.

It was also a great pleasure to work alongside Sue Taylor Photography (Global Sanctuary) who share the same ethos, dedication, commitment and attitude in every aspect of their profession and passion as I do – this is no doubt why they were declared the NSW winner for Wedding Photography in 2012 at the prestigious Australian Bridal Industry Academy Awards (ABIA). They were a total joy to work with and when I approached Sue Taylor, Global Sanctuary’s Founder & Managing Director about the possibility of sharing some images from Katie and Scott’s wedding day for this Blog, she did not hesitate for the slightest micro second. On receiving the images I was blown away with how beautifully everything was captured. Katie and Scott, who are an absolutely stunning couple anyway, look like they belong in a fashion magazine!!.(someone really needs to submit this wedding to a wedding magazine).

The essence of Katie & Scott’s wedding day celebration, the inner beauty of this special couple is beautifully represented and their obvious happiness captured perfectly. I was able to relive many beautiful moments from this very special day as their Sydney Wedding DJ & MC. Thank you so much Sue.

  • Wedding Reception | 23 March 2013 | Stephany & Jason | InterContinental Hotel, Sydney

It was at a Halloween party in October 2009 when Stephany and Jason first met and spent the next five hours chatting to each other. They have been virtually inseparable since. After only a month of meeting, they realised that they had both fallen so deeply in love with each other and within two and a half months from meeting at the Halloween party, they had moved in together.

Now even though Stephany knew within those first two months that Jason was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, it was not until October 2011 that Jason also came to the same realisation. He organised a romantic dinner and overnight stay at Establishment and between the Main and Dessert, Jason proposed to Stephany. A very happy Stephany accepted his proposal and the wedding planning began.

Here we were on a beautiful Autumn Sydney day (there were some very brief isolated showers during the afternoon, but they did not cause any disruptions) as friends and family gathered to celebrate the union of their love. Some had travelled from Peru and London to be with them on their special day. Whilst the ceremony was held in Balmain, Stephany & Jason selected the Treasury Room  at the InterContinental Hotel, Sydney as the location for their celebration. As guests arrived they were welcomed with refreshments and canapés whilst enjoying chatting, the background music and elegant surroundings.

Before long, it was time to welcome the wedding party and our extremely happy newly weds. They entered to cheers and applause before Stephany welcomed everyone with a few beautiful words. Entree was served and it was time for joint MC’s Phil & Pete to introduce the first of the speakers. Jason’s Dad, Mike was first followed by Stephany’s Uncle Charlie. Both made beautiful speeches with Stephany experiencing a range of emotions whilst her Uncle spoke.

Following a lovely main meal, Phil & Pete were back for the cutting of the cake  and to introduce the rest of the speakers for the evening. Commencing with Maid of Honour, Joanna, then Best Man, Daniel and last but not least, Jason. The lovely words, humourous stories and beautiful wishes truly reflected the gorgeous couple that Stephany and Jason are and was enjoyed by all.

Guests were then served the wedding cake as dessert  and it was finally time for Stephany and Jason’s first dance. They had been learning a choreographed routine for a number of weeks and I know that, Jason in particular, had expressed a little concern about remembering the steps and it all coming together in the week leading up to the wedding. Need he have felt this way? Not at all! It was great! I did manage to capture video of half the dance which can be seen below – take a look and you will see they did such a fantastic job!! Following this the wedding party and guests joined them on the dance floor and it was time to let their hair down and party to the early hours…..which we did!!!……except for a short break for the bouquet and garter toss.

Stephany and Jason wanted a traditional and elegant, yet totally fun wedding. This is exactly what they got!! Everybody enjoyed themselves immensely. The night flew by and before we knew it it was time to wrap things up with the farewell circle and a final farewell dance. It was such a lovely wedding celebration. Stephany and Jason, thank you for your trust in giving me the huge honour of being your Sydney Wedding DJ, a part of your special day and allowing me to witness the beautiful love you have for each other. You both enjoy life to the fullest and everything it has to offer. You both cherish and adore each other immensely. Your love will continue to grow. Your future will be full of much happiness. May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

  • Wedding Reception | 16 March 2013 | Katie & Scott | Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, Sydney

This super sweet and gorgeous couple first met on MySpace, but it was not until 6 November 2007 that they actually met in person at The Mean Fiddler in Rouse Hill. Katie’s first impression of Scott was that he was “Hot!” whilst Scott just couldn’t take his eyes off Katie for one moment whilst admiring just how beautiful she was and saying “Wow!” to himself repeatedly. They hit it off straight away, shared their first kiss that night on the dance floor and so marked the beginning of this beautiful love story.

Love blossomed and they eventually moved in together. On the 4th May 2011, when Katie returned home she found rose petals on the stairs leading to the bedroom. She followed the petals and as she opened the bedroom door noticed there was a rose petal love heart on the bed and then……….. she saw Scott down on his knee. Scott proposed to Katie that day, and whilst Katie was left absolutely speechless, except for an “Oh My God!”, she obviously did say yes at some point, because here we were at Coast Golf Club on a beautiful Sydney Autumn day to witness their life long commitment and celebrate the deep love they both share.

With a gentle breeze blowing across this picturesque setting, enhanced by the lovely ladies from Decorations By Jelena who created a stunning ceremony setting, guests commenced to gather as Scott and his grooms men waited in front of the ceremony arbour framing the Golf Course and the Pacific Ocean. Then in the distance, a green and white Kombi appeared and slowly wound it’s way to the ceremony location. Katie and her bridesmaids alighted from the Kombi, the processional music started playing and the girls started making their way up the aisle. Katie, looking absolutely positively radiant and stunning, was escorted up the aisle by her very proud dad, Phil. As they made their way up the aisle, Scott setting eyes on his beautiful wife to be, struggled to keep his emotions in check – it was a such beautiful moment. When Katie finally reached Scott they exchanged a kiss and the lovely ceremony began. Before we knew it Katie & Scott were finally married!!

Some group photos were taken, before the the wedding party jumped on golf buggies and made their way around the grounds, for more photographs. Guests adjourned to the Club and onto the Terrace enjoying refreshments and the spectacular view. When it was time, guests were asked to take their seats and we officially welcomed the wedding party. Katie and Scott opted for a FUN entry which included sound drops, comedy, best man Scotty H taking off his shirt (completely spontaneous, although as I learned later in the evening, he did not need much encouragement to do this and in fact took off his shirt a number of times throughout the celebration) and  Katie being carried in by Scott ‘piggy back’ style to the cheers and applause of their family and friends. A brief welcome and thank you by Scott and everybody was then served a lovely entrée.

After the entrée, Katie & Scott cut their awesome wedding cake – if you are wondering the significance of the cake, both are into motocross and dirt bike racing. Then continuing the fun, we had a little activity to see how well Katie and Scott knew each other. Asking a series of pointed questions like.”Who is the better kisser?”, whilst they sat back to back holding their own shoe in one hand and the other’s shoe in the other hand. They each simply raised the appropriate shoe to indicate their answer. This proved to be highly enjoyable to all the guests with some hilarious combinations of shoes.

Guests then enjoyed a delicious main meal before it was time for the speeches. First up was Katie’s dad Phil, then Scott’s mum, Maureen and finally best man, Scotty H. All made lovely speeches congratulating the newly weds, recounting some humourous stories, thanked all those involved in the organisation of the celebration and wished Katie and Scott much happiness. This was followed by Dessert.

It was now time for their first dance as husband an wife. On a dance floor surrounded by their family and friends, Katie and Scott danced to “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer. This was so beautiful with both totally in the moment and so content, Katie with her so beautiful smile and Scott once again trying to hold back his emotions. Mid way through the dance “our special surprise” resulted in many happy tears throughout the room. Scott held Katie closer and Katie held Scott closer and savoured every second of that special moment. Guests were then invited to join in and party time began! Scotty H took off his shirt a number of times, the brides maids and Katie danced to songs from the hens night and their were lots of smiles on the dance floor.

Before we knew it was time for the bouquet toss, garter toss and father daughter dance. Mid way through the dance Katie indicated to mum, Sally to cut in and it became a mother daughter dance whilst at the same time Scott asked mum, Maureen to dance – lovely and just so nice to see! Everyone was then invited to join Katie and Scott for a farewell dance  before forming a guard of honour and it was time for our new Mr & Mrs Johnson to depart and begin the next chapter of their lives as a married couple.

Katie and Scott, thank you for being the lovely genuine individuals you are. It was such a huge pleasure being a part of your wedding day – I enjoyed every second of it! I loved getting to know you both, I loved seeing how much you adore each other. I loved the personal touches that made your wedding totally you. I loved meeting your family and friends. I loved watching you say ‘I do!’ I loved the connection. I loved the way you smiled at each other. For a hopeless romantic like me, all these things make my heart smile and so very, very happy. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your amazing wedding day as your Sydney Wedding DJ & MC – I will always remember it with much fondness.  May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!
