Wedding Ceremony DJ Sydney

  • Wedding Ceremony & Reception | 31 October 2023 | Branagh & Max | Tea Room QVB, Sydney

Love is often full of surprises, and for Branagh and Max, it all began on the campus of their university. Their journey from two strangers with contrasting first impressions to soulmates exchanging vows at the QVB Tea Room on Halloween, is a heart warming tale of true love.

    A Chance Encounter at University

Branagh and Max crossed paths during their undergraduate psychology days, a fateful encounter that neither of them would ever forget. Branagh, sporting a unique look with her bright red hair, oversized bright yellow T-shirt, and a giant backpack full of textbooks, couldn’t help but notice Max’s initial impression. She thought he was a guest lecturer, and his attire exuded confidence. In contrast, Max thought Branagh was the “biggest nerd” with her quirky appearance.

    From Strangers to Friends

Although their first impressions were less than flattering, destiny had more in store for them. Their shared interest in psychology brought them together as student reps for their year, all thanks to their favourite lecturer who introduced them via email. Little did they know that this would be the start of a beautiful journey. Over the years, they worked together on assignments, slowly forming a strong friendship. It was a gradual process, with both of them having partners during this time. Yet, something special was blooming, even if they couldn’t see it themselves. Friends for six years, they had no idea that their destinies were intertwined.

    The First Spark

Their first date was a unique experience, initially starting as two friends attending a casino-themed Christmas party for work. The night was filled with laughter, drinks, and learning to play casino games. As the night unfolded, Max’s arm found its way around Branagh, and by the end of the evening, their first kiss sealed the beginning of their romantic journey.

The next day, they ventured to Hunter Valley Gardens, where Max gave Branagh a guided tour of all the places he had worked, further deepening their connection.

    Sydney: Their Special Place

Living in the Hunter Valley, Sydney became Branagh and Max’s go-to holiday destination. They often stayed at the Casino and indulged in high tea at the QVB Tea Room, a place that held a special spot in their hearts. As their love blossomed, they shared dreams of getting married on Halloween.

Max’s proposal plan was a well-orchestrated puzzle that spanned several months. With clues, codes, and a lockbox, Branagh finally unlocked the box by 2 July, 2022, setting in motion the journey that led them to their wedding day.

A Magical Day at QVB Tea Room

Their wedding at the QVB Tea Room was nothing short of magical. The sun’s rays streamed through the grand windows, casting a warm glow on the couple as they exchanged heartfelt vows. Ben Ager, Marriage Celebrant, and Damien Southam created a ceremony filled with quirky, heartfelt moments that perfectly represented Branagh and Max’s unique love story.

The evening was an enchanting blend of laughter, touching speeches, and the spirit of Halloween. With ceramic pumpkins adorning the tables, the guests enjoyed the festivities, including dancing that lasted well into the night.

Branagh and Max’s wedding celebration was a testament to the power of love, demonstrating that sometimes, the most unexpected connections lead to the most beautiful destinations. As they embark on this new chapter, one thing is certain: their love story will continue to inspire us all.

In closing, Branagh and Max, may your life together be a wonderful and joyful journey filled with boundless love, fulfilled dreams, and countless adventures. As you embark on this new chapter as a married couple, may your love grow stronger with each passing day, and may every challenge you face only bring you closer.

It was truly an honour and privilege to be a part of your special day, not only as your Sydney Wedding MC and Sydney Wedding DJ but also as witness to the beautiful love story you’ve created. Your journey together has already inspired us all, and we can’t wait to see the incredible moments that the future holds for both of you.

Here’s to Branagh and Max, a couple whose love knows no bounds and whose future is filled with endless possibilities. Congratulations on your Halloween wedding, and may your love story continue to shine bright! ~ Serge

  • Wedding Reception & Ceremony | 22 October 2022 | Marta & Jarrod | Hawkesbury Country Retreat, Cornwallis, Hawkesbury

Marta and Jarrod have been together since 2016 and they continue to adore each other so openly and honestly. They are fun to be around. They have a gentle tenderness for each other, I love their light-hearted banter and how easily they make each other laugh, is a joy to behold.

They created a wedding that was perfectly suited to their fun loving, relaxed and joyful family and friends. The ceremony and reception was held at Hawkesbury Country Retreat which is nestled amongst the Blue Mountains, on the Hawkesbury River, and offers impressive waterfront and mountain views, perfect for Marta and Jarrod.

The ceremony took place in the tree lined driveway of the property, whilst there were moments leading up to ceremony time that it looked like we may have to opt for the indoor option, following 15 minutes of rain the dark clouds disappeared and it was perfect for the rest of the day.

A few highlights of the ceremony was the bridesmaids, in their rustic green dresses, walking down the tree lined aisle, Marta and Jarrod’s daughter Kenzii riding a pony led by Maid of Honour, Angela, down the aisle and the pièce de résistance, as Marta walked down the aisle, a very emotional Jarrod, at times choking up, sang “Amazed” by Lonestar. This was such a beautiful and special moment.

The ceremony itself, beautifully officiated by Darrin Noon, was filled with love, laughter, little witty and fun remarks plus some happy tears. The love these two share and how comfortable they are in each others company was very obvious and heartwarming to witness.

Following the ceremony, whilst guests enjoyed refreshments and canapes as they relaxed in the picturesque grounds, Marta, Jarrod and their wedding party had photographs around the 20 acre property.

To rapturous applause we welcomed the wedding party, then Marta and Jarrod into The Shed to commence the reception and celebration of this wonderful marriage. A welcome from Jarrod – delivered in a way that was Jarrod to a tee, followed by a surprise special dance routine for Jarrod by Marta and the bridesmaids to “Dear Future Husband” by Megan Trainor really kicked of the reception in a special way.

Guests then enjoyed a delicious American style BBQ buffet, wonderfully prepared by Crosdales BBQ. This was followed by the Newlywed Game, the first round of speeches by Maid of Honour, Angela, Marta’s Mum and Best Man, Brent.

Next Marta and Jarrod were invited to cut their wedding cake. This moment was made more special by their daughter Kenzii, singing along with the Pink, Willow Sage Hart duet of “Cover Me In Sunshine”. Truly a lovely moment, so much so that Marta and Jarrod were, understandably, so mesmerised, that I had to discreetly remind them that they needed to cut the cake, before the song ended.

Another fun activity involving guests before the second round of speeches plus some surprises from Jarrod’s family which acknowledged the New Zealand heritage and traditions that were important on an occasion such as this. All the speeches were down to earth and hearfelt. There was laughter and more happy tears – the things that make a wedding so special and memorable.

More fun as we set up Best Man Brent in a dancing competition, which was a lot of fun. Guests then enjoyed Dessert.

It was now time for our lovely couple to take to the dance floor for their very first dance as a married couple. As the music commenced, the dance floor began to fill with low lying fog (dry ice), at the appropriate time the team from Series Of Events Australia, set off the spark machines and at another point also those from the ceiling creating a waterfall effect of sorts – it was all quite stunning, but what I noticed was that Marta and Jarrod were totally in the moment, savouring each second of this dance, it was if they were the only two in the room and they only had eyes for each other!! For a hopeless romantic like me, this was what made this moment so special.

For the remainder of the evening guests danced the night away, there was a bouquet and garter toss before we bid our beautiful couple farewell.

Marta and Jarrod are awesome people..they laugh easily, love openly, cherish each other deeply and are so much fun to be around! They are perfect for each other and they made their wedding day perfectly spectacular (with a little help from their fabulous family & friends and also the weather gods!) Thank you for sharing yourselves and allowing me to play a part in your beautiful day as your Hawkesbury Wedding MC & Hawkesbury Wedding DJ! Fate knew what it was doing when it bonded your lives together. Wishing you love and many more years of happiness to come. May your love for each other continue to flourish and blossom through all of life’s chapters!

  • Wedding Reception & Ceremony | 9 January 2022 | Kristy & Jake | William Inglis Hotel, Warwick Farm, Sydney

Kristy & Jake’s wedding celebration was one of those days where you kind of wish you could slow down time. Amazing venue a fun wedding party, funny and supportive family & friends, and the magic that is Kristy & Jake. They are both kind, humble and gorgeous inside and out. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to have been able to play a part of their magical day!

The journey to their wedding celebration however, was not all smooth sailing. They met in February 2018. A month later they were dating and a year later during a “glamping” trip, Jake proposed. It was in April 2019, when I first met them both (following an initial lengthy conversation with Jake). I connected with Kristy & Jake immediately and it was evident that they completely adored each other, made each other laugh with ease and were perfect for one another.

Kristy & Jake’s wedding date was set to be 4 July 2020, but in March 2020 the world started to go a little crazy and we were restricted from doing many things including getting married, let alone having a wedding reception 🙁 (Also around this time, the home that they were building was completed, and they moved in together.)

As time progressed and we approached 4 July 2020, it was obvious that they would not be able to have the wedding day they had envisaged. However, they were not going to let a global pandemic stop them from getting married. So, get married on 4 July 2020 they did!!, with an intimate ceremony on the family property. The plan was then to have a vow renewal and celebrate with family & friends on 3 July 2021.

Kristy & Jake on their wedding day 4 July 2020 (Image: T-One Image)

Whilst Kristy & Jake were enjoying married life, the craziness in the world continued and whilst there were some restrictions in place, it looked like that they would be able to celebrate on this new date. We were almost a week out when a lockdown was imposed and dashed all hope for the celebration once again. Another new date of 5 September 2021 was set, but this was shortly afterwards postponed to 9 January 2022.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at the William Inglis Hotel, a boutique equine themed hotel located at Warwick Farm. With its gorgeous feel and quintessential rural ambience, it is a perfect location for a wedding.

So here we were, 9 January 2022 and Kristy & Jake finally were able to celebrate with their family and friends. It did appear at one point that the rain gods had conspired to rain on their parade, but no, love won with just a few minutes of the lightest drizzle during the ceremony.

In was a beautiful vow renewal, officiated by Carolyn Wilson, guests witnessed a heartfelt ceremony as Kristy & Jake reaffirmed their love and commitment to each other. A group photograph followed before guests were treated to a Gelato Cart, refreshments and canapés.

Before long it was time to welcome the members of wedding party and our beautiful couple into the Big Barn to commence the celebration. Couple by couple they entered to great cheers and applause, with the biggest reserved for Kristy & Jake, who entered to “The Horses” by Daryl Braithwaite, whilst surprising guests by riding stick horses and wearing cowboy hats!

Kristy & Jake Fun Entry (Image: T-One Image)

This was followed by the cutting of the cake, wonderful speeches from the two dads, Barry and Graeme, Kristy sharing a dance with her dad, a delectable entrée, great speeches from the Matron of Honour, Latoya, Best Man, Greg and last, but not least, Jake. At the end of his speech Jake invited his mum, Candy to the dance floor for the mother son dance. This was followed by a delicious main course.

It was now time for Kristy & Jake to share their first dance together. To a special mix of two versions of “(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles”, the first by Sleeping At Last. As the floor filled with a sea of dry ice, they danced as if they were amongst the clouds. Part way through, as the song transitioned to the original Proclaimers version, multiple indoor fireworks shot up through the sea of clouds as the wedding party and guests joined Kristy and Jake on the dance floor.

After a 554 day wait from that original 4 July 2020 date, the rest of the evening was filled with lots of dancing, laughter, catching up, and finally being able to celebrate these two amazing individuals committing their lives to each other again, surrounded by their fun family and friends! As long as it took for this day to finally arrive, it seemed like it was over way too quickly and before we knew, we were bidding Kristy & Jake farewell.

Sometimes I struggle to find the words to explain how grateful I am for the awesome people who trust me to play a part in their amazing wedding days. This is such a time. They both have a big soft spot in my heart. They are generous, sweet, fun, talented and despite all the challenges they faced in this journey, they managed to remain calm throughout and just go with the flow. I am so honoured for their trust they placed in me. Kristy & Jake, keep nurturing and caring for your love as you proceed through life together. It will then grow into the most beautiful thing you’ve ever known! May love, laughter and music continue to fill your lives forever!!

A huge thank you to William Inglis Hotel, Carolyn Wilson, T-One Image, Jewel Phon Flowers, Hype Occasions Photobooths and Sweeter Than Pink. It was a great pleasure to work with you all!
