It would appear that Samara and Westley were destined to be together, maybe as part of some grand plan by a greater being or maybe just by fate, but whatever the reason, it was obviously just meant to be. From their paths continually crossing in their teenage years at athletics and soccer, through to university later on in life, neither were able to escape the power of the circumstances which was responsible for them connecting, falling in love and becoming united in marriage to commencing their together forever journey.

Now whilst their paths were continually crossing, there had only been admiration from afar. It was not until an invitation to a mutual friend’s birthday party, and acting on a dare from her Mum, that Samara added Westley on Facebook. Westley accepted and this prompted lots of Facebook chats and eventually organising to go to dinner. When Samara and Westley met with me when they were enquiring into my services, Westley shared that he knew he was in love with Samara within the first three weeks of them first meeting and that she was the one he wanted to marry within six months.

Fast forward to 20 June 2015 where following a few weeks of preparation, surprised Samara with a proposal! It all started two weeks earlier when Westley spoke to Samara’s parents about asking for their daughter’s hand in marriage and then went to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains to scout out the perfect location for the proposal at the base of a waterfall. The next weekend he went back with a photographer to check out where they could hide and have the moment captured. Given that each year from their first meeting they celebrated their anniversary in some way, Samara was unsuspecting of anything when Westley suggested they go to the Blue Mountains for the day.

The morning of they left early to go to the Blue Mountains. On the way when the conversation shifted to engagements, weddings and related things, Westley started to think that Samara may have suspected what he had planned, but no, she had no inkling of what was to come. When they reached Wentworth Falls and they were making their way down the steps, Westley pretended he did not know where he was going (even though he had been there the previous two weekends), by making comments and questioning if they were going the right way to get to the waterfall.

When they reached the waterfall, Westley said he wanted a photo at the base of the waterfall on some table height rocks. Samara was reluctant to climb up on those rocks and said things like “if you fall and hurt yourself, I can’t carry you back up!”. After to and froing for what seemed like five minutes to Westley at the time (but in reality was only about 20 seconds), Samara and Westley got up onto the rock. He put down his back and grabbed the ring from it. He then walked over to Samara and asked her, “did you think I was going to propose today?” To which Samara said “No.” Westley then said, “Well I am!” and got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Samara’s eyes started to fill with tears of happiness, her legs started to shake, she was momentarily speechless, before accepting with a most resounding, YES!

Oh…and yes the photographer did get the photo :-)!!

Saturday 5 November 2016, the day had finally arrived and Sydney shone like a diamond turning on such a perfect day for their wedding. They selected Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf as the location for their elegant wedding celebration. The room looked AMAZING! Their cake from The Cake Studio was detailed and spectacular, the table centrepieces from Anna Wang graced the tables along with the florals which hung from the ceiling above the bridal table and the white dance floor all coming together to create a beautiful and elegant feel in the room.

The evening was filled with heartfelt moments, fun, laughter, good food and lots of dancing! It was the perfect celebration of their love and the commitment to a life together. Samara and Westley are both kind, humble, gorgeous inside and out and reflective of their strong family bonds and the values instilled in them in their upbringing. They are much loved and this was evident thoughout the entire day. It was also fortunate and a great pleasure to have Siempre, Cinemotive Wedding Films and U Got Snapped Photobooth assist in capturing these fun and emotional moments – can’t wait to see the professional photographs and video!!

Together, Samara and Westley created a magical day filled with love, laughter a few tears of happiness, lots of fun and memories which they will treasure always.
